Former Minister of Defence, Hon. Joshua Simuyandi has died.

Amb. Simuyandi died in Lusaka in the early morning of Friday.

Simuyandi served as Defence Minister in 2001 under Second President, Frederick Chiluba.

Simuyandi then was posted in Foreign Service where he served as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Tanzania and later to Malawi.

He survived by his wife Margaret.

A family source also revealed that this is a difficult period for the family as Last month, the family lost his son, Mweemba Simuyandi.
