Following complaints from members of the Public on increased permanent Security check points countrywide, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Kakoma Kanganja wishes to state that the only approved security check points are still as announced in a Ministerial Statement presented in Parliament by the Minister of Home Affairs, Hon. Stephen Kampyongo (MP) in 2017.

He has called upon all Provincial Police Commissioners to ensure that officers under their charge adhere to this directive.

Any revision to the existing security check points shall formally be communicated to members of the public.

According to the Ministerial statement, the approved security check points should be complimented by snap traffic check points which are expected to be done in a coordinated matter so that the travelling public is not inconvenienced.

The following were and are still the only approved checkpoints Countrywide:

2. Makeni turn off along Mumbwa road
3. Chirundu – Siavonga junction
4. Moono turn-off along great East Road
5. Luangwa Bridge (Great East Road)

COPPERBELT PROVINCE SECURITY CHECK POINTS

2. Kafue bridge
3. Sabina
4. Mukambo
5. Sakanya
6. Luanshya – Kitwe – Ndola junction
7. Solwezi-Chingola road junction
