A 13 year old girl of Shimano area in Nkeyema District of Western Province who recently made it to grade eight has reportedly been defiled and impregnated by the brother in law.

This came to light when the victim in the company of her mother went to complain at the Social Welfare Office at Munkuye in Nkeyema District.

Social Welfare Assistant Programs Officer Sibeso Sikananu confirmed to have received a case in which the minor was defiled and impregnated by the brother in law.

Mrs. Sikananu explained that her office is following up on the matter to find out how it was possible for the young girl to be defiled and impregnated by the brother in law while her sister was sleeping in the same room.

She said the family got suspicious when the brother in law tried to have the girl terminate the pregnancy through herbs.
