Zambian Breweries has denied manufacturing and selling contaminated castle lager to its customers.

In this matter Oliver Muunga has sued Zambian Breweries for selling contaminated castle lager.

It is alleged that on 28th February last year in Siavonga, Muunga bought a bottle of castle lager from Pub and Grill which was opened by a bar tender and after he consumed half of the beer, he immediately got nausea and started vomiting profusely.

When the content of the bottle was inspected, some residue was discovered and settled matter at the bottom of the bottle.

Analysis by the food and drug’s laboratory confirmed that the beer he consumed was contaminated with fungus.

Muunga is now demanding K7, 500 compensation.
