Govt Saddened With The Non-Adherence To Banning Of Drinking Places

Government says it is not happy with the non-adherence and compliance levels in communities in Lusaka defying the ban on drinking places , a measure instituted by government in the fight against COVID-19.

Local Government Minister Charles Banda says he is saddened that some drinking places in the Capital City were secretly selling beer to the general public instead of closing the bars rather than the laid down law in the face of the pandemic.

Dr. Banda further said he is not happy that bars in the Capital City don’t have the directed sanitizers or soap as a prevention measure against the pandemic.

The Minister said this when he made an impromptu visit at Chilulu and Garden Markets in Lusaka today.

Dr. Banda explained the fight against coronavirus cannot be won if some people are defying measures by government.

The minister , who was accompanied by officials from his ministry advised the general public to conduct a citizen’s arrest on bar owners defying government efforts against COVID-19.
