Zambia Records 6 New Positive Coronavirus Cases In The Last 24hours

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya says Zambia has identified six new positive coronavirus cases in the last 24hours bringing the total number to 35.

Dr. Chilufya says the new cases are direct contacts to those that had traveled to Pakistan as well as third generation contacts to the ones that have tested positive.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Dr. Chilufya said that the total number of cases that have happened as a result of local transmission stands at 9 adding that all those that have tested positive are stable and will be discharged once they test negative for the virus.

He said that health personnel across the country will continue to trace all contacts to confirmed cases and second generation testing has been intensified.

Dr. Chilufya has reiterated the need for all citizens to continue to adhere to health tips being shared to prevent the spread of Covid19.

He said that the Ministry has continued to deploy more surveillance staff in the communities to enhance contact tracing for potential Covid19 positive cases.
