The Office and Family of Zambia’s first Republican President, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda has suspended his 96th birthday celebrations.
Adherence to covid-19 preventive guidelines as published by Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization is what has necessitated the decision, the family has announced.
The Family has advised friends, institutions and the general public wishing to present birthday gifts to Dr. Kaunda to leave the gifts at the entrance of his residence in State Lodge area or at his Office in Kabulonga, Lusaka.
And Dr. Kenneth Kaunda has urged all Zambians to adhere to the measures put in place by government to prevent spread of COVID-19.
Zambia’s First Republican President’s birthday falls on April 28.
