PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu has terminated the contract of Commissioner of Police at the Zambia Police headquarters Hudson Namachila. The termination of Mr Namachila’s contract is with immediate effect. The President’s decision is in exercise of powers vested in him by Article 92 (2) (e) and 92 (2) (f) read with Article 270 of the Laws of Zambia. This is contained in a statement issued by Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations, Isaac Chipampe.

“I hereby terminate your contract as Commissioner of Police with immediate effect,” President Lungu said. The head of State thanked Mr Namachila for services rendered to Government and wished him well in his future endeavours. President Lungu recently transferred Mr Namachila from North-Western Province and replaced him with his then Luapula Province Police Commissioner Elias Chushi.
