Libya have jumped to the summit of group C AFCON qualifiers after after pulling off a significant 1-0 win against Mozambique in Cairo, Egypt yesterday.
The win will be well received in Tripoli amidst the political unrest which has rocked the country in the recent past.
This piles pressure on Zambia who take on minnows Comoros in less than 24 hours. Libya has now moved to 11 points while Zambia trail with 9 points with a game in hand.
This means Zambia has to collect maximum points against Comoros to remain in strong contention before the penultimate match against Libya on October, 10 which now promises to be a cracker with everything to play for.
Dario Bonneti has named an experienced team led by captain Chris Katongo who has scored in 3 consecutive AFCONs and will be aching to lead his team to another AFCON tournament.
