Stop Issuing Alarming Statements, Public Warned

The Zambia Police service has warned the public against issuing statements that are likely to cause public panic.
Police spokesperson Ndandula Siamana says that the police service will not allow certain people to spread false rumors.
Ms. Siamana says that the police will stop at nothing to ensure that peace prevails especially that the country is undergoing elections.
She announced that so far, the police have apprehended one person for spreading false information around the country.
The Police spokesperson adds that the public should help the police by bringing people spreading false rumors to any nearest police post.
She says that if left lose, such statements are likely to bring civil unrest.
And Ms Siamana has stated that the police will ensure that every political party have violence free campaigns.
She says that the police will ensure that peace prevails among all political parties participating in the 2011 elections.
