Sata Is Winning, Says Mulongoti

Former Works and Supply minister Mike Mulongoti has maintained that Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata will win next week%u2019s Presidential elections regardless of the recent opinion polls that have favored MMD%u2019s Rupiah Banda.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Mulongoti has observed that there is a huge disconnection between the leadership of the ruling MMD and the Zambian people.

He says President Banda’s government has neglected the people stating that there is need for some levels of morality in the MMD leadership hierarchy.

Mr Mulongoti says it is a far fetched dream for the MMD leadership to expect votes from Zambians by merely patching up potholes on the roads.

Mr Mulongoti says Zambians are clever enough adding that after 20th September; MMD will be a thing of the past as the opposition PF will form government.

On , New Generation Party (NGP) leader Humphrey Siulapwa unveiled an opinion poll said to have been conducted among on youths predicting that President Rupiah will win next week’s Presidential elections with 46 percent of votes, while PF leader Michael Sata will amass 28 percent with UPND%u2019s Hakainde Hichilema trailing on 21 percent.

  10. Mulongoti could be right

    September 13, 2011 at 3:18 pm

JoJo, Am also MMD supporter, but I can see ati ifintu tafiweme. PF doesn’t give handouts at their rallies, pipo attend in thousands and willingly, without being given anything because they want change, but look at our MMD rallies, for them to pull a crowd they have to give out money, ifitenge, beer, T-shirts, bicycles and so on and most pipo who attend MMD rallies go there on “don’t kubeba” basis. iliko bad Jojo mudala, lets just accept facts.

If only there could be at least 75% turnout in CB, LS, luapula and Nothern, then we, PF, would sail through smooth clean. But if the turnout will be like last time in these areas, then it is still 50/50, it can go either way. But what gives me cofidence is Sata’s ever upswing trend with each election he faces-last time it was 38% and we lost by less than 2% and this is the time we did not have Chongwe, Kafulafuta, Kabwe, Kapiri, Mpulungu, Mbala, Chipata, Chilanga, etc. This time around, he is definately scoring above 42%. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are indeed winning and I would like to advise the MMD to reflect and face realite!

Its a battle-RB is now using the chiefs, by giving them millions to share with headmen who in turn distribute the money to the voters-all these ‘closed door meetings’ with the chiefs is all about corrupting them-eehii, this old man is a corruption addict, no matter how people talk about it, he does not repent!! Anyway ni Ndonchi Ukubeba, we will still teach him a lesson come 20th and make him account for all the money he is ‘giving’ even to trees!

HH too has a chance of winning this time aroud…like it or not he has made inroads in lsk province and copperbelt rural not to mention estern province.Western province is likely to give him 60% of votes based on tribal causinship so is the case with N/western province.
He will have a sweeping victory in S/province winning all the seats perhaps except for L/stone which is likely to go to an independent canditate.

On the other hand, lets us not underestimated MMD’s national character. You will agree with me tht MMD will either be coming 1st or 2nd in all provinces and this wil give them an urge while PF and UPND in some province will be coming second and third.E.g,in S/provnce UPND wins with MMD in strong second leaving PF trailing in very distant third. This will eat away the massive votes PF will get in urban lsk and Cbelt.

Western province have beig king makers, despite all what happend i still feel MMD will still perform better wining returning some seats.Lozis are very sceptical people who analyse issues before taking an action.Sata is viewd by many lozis as one who can not be trusted and in this respect he will NOT get as many votes as many of us are proclaiming. Now its true they want change, but do they have a choice?…the ans is YES,In their own Milupi and cousin HH.If they wont give MMD votes then they will give to either Milupi or HH

Having said the above…i feel it will be tight race and my the will of the majority prevail.

    Finaly,lets quard our peace jealously.
