Gunfire At Nakatindi Hall, William Banda Clobbered By Electorates As Lukulu West ‘Votes’ Today

Reports coming in are that there were gunshots at Nakatindi Hall as MMD cadres were not allowed into to the polling stations when they forcibly tried to. Lusaka MMD chairperson is reported to be the Orchestrator of the incident  and William Banda has again been reported to be badly beaten by voters at Chibolya basic school after  he tried to have access to Chibolya Basic School. He was attacked as he was trying to make his way out of the gate. The attackers were sported  to have outnumbered his MMD companions who scampered in all directions leaving him alone during the incident.

Meanwhile there is serious strife in Ndola’s Chipulukusu township as people have burnt down makeshift stalls and an MMD Rupia Banda’s campaign billboard.
Tumfweko report is that Unregistered vehicle was seen after 18hrs parked by the polling station (Chibolele Basic school) where residents got, suspicious hence started making unnecessary noise of chants of ‘We want Change, We want Change’ !
This follows suspicions by the residents that ballot papers were to be fixed in other genuine ballot papers that were cast and hence intercepted the alleged graft.
Copperbelt Police Command chief, Dr Martin Malama , confirmed this in an interview.
Quick response by the police through the use of tear gas canisters helped quell the situation in which Six have been arrested.
Meanwhile, Ndola district Police Command Chief, Bonny Kapeso has been hospitalized after he was involved in one of the fracas. It is not yet clear on what really happened to him during the fracas.
People have since locked themselves up in their homes for fear of being arrested.
But Copperbelt Police Command chief Dr Malama has since assured the people of police protection from perpetrators of violence.
In related development, in Mpongwe, an electorate was hit by a truck and died on the spot immediately after casting his vote. Meanwhile, ECZ has postponed voting in lukulu west to tomorrow.
The people of Lukulu West have not voted today but will vote tomorrow (9/21) this is due to a ‘puncture’ by the vehicle which was ferrying election materials to the area. ECZ public relations, Chris Akufuna confirmed this development.

ECZ huts off you were doing a very good job by announcing the results as you were receiving them. No one has any right to stop you or intimidate you by carrying out the duties you are assigned to do on behalf of all Zambians. What ever people are saying do not listen to any one just carry out your duties and finish what you started and announce the final results and let the winning candidate be sworn in to avoid a vaccum. This silence is really not good for the nation the whole world or even the international observers we have invited to come and observe how democratic we are in Zambia.
