William Banda Appears in Court As MMD Chongwe MP Japhen Mwakalombe Resigns
MMD Lusaka Provincial Chairman William Banda has been charged for proposing violence in Chongwe district prior to the general elections. In this matter Mr Banda faces one count of proposing violence.
Particulars of the offence are that on 3rd September, Mr Banda unlawfully incited MMD cadres to beat and chase PF cadres.
Meanwhile, state prosecutors have made an application to have the case heard in Chongwe, where the incidence happened. But defense lawyers, Amos Malipenga and Sunday Nkonde, have objected to the application saying Mr Banda resides in Lusaka.
Mr Banda, who was arrested on Tuesday, has been granted bail in the sum of 60 million kwacha with 2 working sureties. He has also pleaded not guilty and the matter comes up for trial on 2nd, 3rd and 4th November 2011.
In a separate development MMD Chongwe member of parliament Japhen Mwakalombe has resigned adding that certain developments that are needed in chongwe like roads and others can only be achieved if the area MP comes from the ruling party.
Mwakalombe beat patriotic front (PF) Sylvia Masebo to emerge victorious in the parley seat in this years elections.

This Mwakalobe man is very sincere,he knows did not win other means where applied he can not waste his time and resources on a petition he for sure knows can not win.Time waster,others follow suit such as Namulambe and many others.It will be very shameful for you guys only to smell of the PF parliament then shown a quick exit.We have evidence of what you did and worse still the people you used are the witnesses come on you are finished you guys.

Its sad to hear that a new MP resigns before going any further.This is a joke country resources were used for elections and now we need a by – election, this man must pay for all the resources needed to run a by-election, government must not accept such responsibilities.

Whether he resigned or not, still a bye-election in Chongwe was inevitable. Mass rigging by MMD in Chongwe. Masebo’s petition is credible. Mwakalombe, you are a true partriot. ECZ quickly prepare an election to give PF victory through Masebo.

The guilt are always afraid. Mwakasomething is just afraid of his own shadow. He knows what he and Bwezi did. Just the pronouncement by ba Bwezi ati I will make Chingwe, Kafulafuta and Chipta Central goes to MMD is sufficient enough to guarantee pertitions. What else did ba Bwezi he mean other that rigging? So the guy Mwakasomething is just doing the right thing in a very costly manner in as far as national resources are concerned. I hope the other guys in Solwezi, Chama, Chipata Central Kafulafuta, Mpongwe etc should follow suit so as to hold bye election at the same time.

Only a fool can accept Mwakalombe’s reason for resigning.Does it mean that they wont contest any byelection.According to his opinion, the MMD will only contest the general elections.Any way its good that he humbles himself before he is humbled by the court of law.

For sure Chongwe had alot of malpractices which involved Tandiwe(former first lady),RB who even threatened some people around SilverRest,and the notorious William Banda. Mwakalombe does not want to waste court’s time knowing that Silvia has already started the petition processes. Fertilizers,money,tractors,e.t.c were being given by Tandiwe so that RB and Mwakalombe could be voted for during campaign period. It was more than Dont Kubeba as more people were beaten and intimidated Sata would bring war.

This guy has realised that asscendancy to higher of office via doubeous means is not something to boast and brag about. He has done well to backdown, however i propose he be probed and investigated. He should have a lesson of his life time that people should not be taken for granted. The whole contry now knows that Silvia Masebo was eluded of the victory she deserved. Dictatorship can be good sometimes. To get things done quickly without wasting time, we need a dictator. When voting for Sata we were well aware of this fact! Pa Zambia we are too docile nokupwalala. Let Sata be a dictator for a ka 10 years, then we can go back to wishy washy arguments just about wether Dora’s bums are soft or not. For now, just know that the captain of the ship is no nonsense King Cobra. Ka William kapuba sana. Let him cuca takomfwa. Chiluba deported him with Gumbo to Malawi earlier for this stupidity.
