Sata Orders 30 Days Enquiries Into Zamtel & Finance Bank Graft As Panji Kaunda Is Sent Away For Improper Dressing

President Michael Sata has ordered investigations into the sale of Finance Bank and Zamtel.
And President Sata has directed Justice Minister Sebastian Zulu to determine how the sale of the two institutions was conducted.
President Sata says the Justice Minister should produce a report of the findings within 30 days.
Mr. Sata says a lot of Zambians have suffered as a result of the sale of the two institutions.
He says Zamtel and Finance Bank were very important institutions in Zambia to be sold within a very short period of time.
President Sata was speaking at State House Friday morning when he swore in his new Cabinet.
The Swearing in ceremony was attended by First Republican President Kenneth Kaunda and the traditional leader of the Ila speaking people Bright Nalubamba.
Meanwhile, deputy defence minister Panji Kaunda was sent away by President Sata as he was wearing a cargo short and safari shirt.
Panji was ordered to put on a suit and heed to Sata’s directive.

Enquiry should be headed by an independent member of the judiciary and not a government minister. A minister will be biased as they have pre-conceived ideas.

What of CEEC It needs to be probed. The MMD govt was using it to appease their cadres and m sure many ministers got huge loans for themselves their relatives with no intention of paying back. They also used it on their infamous campaigns to dress trees and street lights with chitenge material. Leaving us voters naked. So pliz yo HE include it as well as we want to expand our biznes to help reduce unemployment

H.E. M.C. Sata you are the man Zambia has been waiting for, that is why we’ve entrusted Zambia in your hands…

  25. Chiingu Mwanakapoba

    October 1, 2011 at 8:51 am

Yes Mr President. There is need for probe into the single sourcing and eventual sale of Zamtel.Secondly the selling of Finance Bank to FNB of South Africa should be reversed and the bank given to the rightful owner Rajahn Mathani. He laboured for it.

Meanwhile Dora Siliya should be interrogated over her role in the whole saga. The former BOZ governer should not go quietly.Let him tell us what he knows.

In a nut shell no sacred cows in the new deal fight against corruption.

certain individuals thought when we said sata is a man of actions,it was just out of campaign.but look if he can treat a deputy minister in that manner who misbehaved, what of u an investor who would want to steal from the hardwork of suffering zambians,u will leave this good country faster than u came hence advised to follow what the law states if u want to have a peaceful stay here.mmd is a thing of the past where everyone did things out of their wish at the expense of the poor zambians, this is now independence.

this man is moving at a much faster pace than expected.this is real action not rb who upon taking office he was out of the country trying to raise some allowance for himself.have you seen H.E. M Sata rushing to go out mukupweneka kubasunga. What kind of a president was RB who could leave the nation when there were serious strikes in the country.People have lost lives in RBz regime without him saying anything. He did nothing for Zambia apart from vandalising the economy.soon he will be behind bars that he knows.Thou shalt not steal.

It appears some ministers working for Sata imagine they are onto a grave train and its business as usual. Oh, No! They are in for a rude awakening! They will work for their money or else fired. Sata means business. At the end of 5 years everybody will be conducting their business like respectable Bishops.
