Seven people including a three month old baby have died in a road traffic Accident in Solwezi.
The accident happened when the truck the victims were travelling in plunged into the Katandano River.
Ten other people including a four month old baby escaped death in the accident which happened after midnight.
The driver of a Benz Truck failed to ascend hill forcing the truck to roll back into the Katandano River.
Police Spokesperson Ndandula Siamana has confirmed the accident in a statement to ZNBC News in Lusaka.
Ms Siamana says the survivors are admitted to Solwezi General Hospital while the bodies of the dead are lying in the hospital mortuary.
Meanwhile, a grade one pupil at Chibombo Basic School died on the spot after being hit by a car.
The accident happened when the girl was crossing the road.
The driver of the car has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Am sure this truck past through a number of road blocks and cops allowed it to go despite not being road worth.may there souls rest in peace.
