The Zambia Rainbow Coalition (ZRC) has charged that Republican President Michael Sata has taken a path that raises alarm to the democratic aspirations of this country.
Coalition President Cleophas Phiri tells Qfm in a statement that the President’s actions so far appear unilateral, without any consultations adding that in many cases, they are breaching the law.
Mr. Phiri claims that the renaming of national airports and hospitals was done without any consultations to stakeholders and Zambians.
He further states that the dissolution of Energy Regulation Board, the dismissal of the Bank of Zambia Governor and the Anti Corruption Commission Director General all raises serious legal questions.
Mr. Phiri also states that the ACC Director General, because of the nature of the institutions and like judges of the High Court, enjoys security of tenure and can therefore not be fired in the manner President Sata has done without cause or justifiable reason.
He explains that powers of the presidency in Zambia, although extensive are exercised through institutions and his delegates such as Cabinet Ministers.
The ZRC leader says President Sata’s decision to dissolve the ERB Board should have been done by his Minister of Energy.
And Mr. Phiri has questioned the composition of cabinet stating that most ministers have been appointed on tribal lines.
He says tribalism is unacceptable and has to be fought as Zambia is diverse in tribe and its leadership and government should reflect the fabric of its society.
Meanwhile Mr Phiri has hailed President Sata for instituting a commission of inquiry to probe the Mongu saga adding that the move is long overdue.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Phiri has expressed hope the commission will yield positive results.
Last week President Sata set up a commission to be headed by prominent Lusaka lawyer Roger Chongwe to investigate the Mongu fracas.

BUT Eastern province benefited most on ministerial appointments, despite having voted the PF into power at only ONE Constituency!
A person fro the East should really be ashamed to complain.
The appointments were on merit, considering the votes and other obvious factors in politics.
NO PRESIDENT WILL EVER CHOOSE TO WORK WITH IRRELEVANT PEOPLE, NEVER [YOU CAN COMPLAIN AS MUCH AS YOU LIKE, BUT THE FACT WILL REMAIN]

Ba Phiri,
How is it Tribal Cabinet??? where are the PF MP’s from? of course his gonna pick from his membership first if they are competent for the ministerial post! So you Phiri you want the President to skip his own competent (luapula/northern/eastern) party member who share the common PF vision to go and pick from where UPND becoz 90% of Southerns voted that direction!
Just shout up I think mweh…right now we really not concerned about where you are from? question is can you deliver what the PF has promised…you are the chaps who cause division and unnecessary tension where its not due…if HH won the presidency where do you think most of him cabinet would hail from? and thats becoz most of UPND MP’s are from the Southern! The President is right to pick within the PF rank & file unfortunately for you most MP’s are either from Northern, Luapula or Eastern…

Which goat is this Phiri?doesn’t he know that the president has powers to hire and fire. Can this he goat Phiri quote any law or staute the president has breached rather than making wild and ****** allegations.
For Phiri’s information the president has the backing of forward-looking Zambians in his quest to clean up the rot left by one RB and his minions. The better this maggot comes to term with this the better for him and the ‘Rain Bow’collition.Anyway what role does this NGO play?
If some disgruntled politician from the former and never to be ruling party is behind this,he or she is wasting time because Zambians have given his Execellency Michael Chilufya Sata a five-year mandate to do everything to redeem them from the artificial poverty imposed on them by successive MMD govts.

Zambian, we pretends too much. You expected SATA not to reward the people who never encouraged him. Even the great Obama fired over 4000s people when he assumed office and gave the jobs to people he trausted. This talk about Sata’s cabinet is useless. Mr. Phiri probably you just want a job. The president is trying to correct injustices and then from onewhere you spring up. Thats being ****** and taking Zambians for a ride. You were virtually non-existent during the Rupiah, Kunda and Dora’s arrogant years of 2010-11. And today you want to tell us that the cabinet is tribalistic ******. Give the man a vote and it will show. You are just seeking a job. Silly you. The President is expected to appoint 95% of his cabinet from his members in parliament. Now look at this Southern, Eastern and Northwestern were cheated by Rupiah Banda and his colleagues so they decided to give Sata no MPs now how do you expect him to appoint more MPs from these provinces. Since Lusaka, Copperbelt Luapula and Nothern gave him 90% of his MPs. It implies these are the ones who deserved it. Unfortunately they are largely bemba speaking or bemba connected so where do think he could have picked his MPs. Look at this Ministers 85% percent of them are married across tribal lines, some of their children speak LOzi, Tongo, Kaonde, Luvale, Lamba, Nyanja, Tumbuka, Nsenga, Soli, Lenje etc. and bore names like that. So how do you say they are tribalistic when their childrens’ children represent the Zambia we know that doesnot know colour, creed and tribe. Please give Sata a break and forget this tribe, nepotism or favouristim tag. Mama Inonge, Ba Nathaniel and Dr. Effron they are Ministers, so please Tongas, Kaondes and Lundas don’t cry foul you didn’t give the Man MPs. Again he has tried by picking 6 MMD MPs, and should be patted on the back. They are not even bemba-inclined. Again it would not have made sense to rush them into full caninet portfolios because he already had equally competent PF MPs. He did not pick any UPND MPs because of the chameleon behaviour of HH and his friends. They need to change. They spent carelessly criticising him when they were supposed to work together to dislodge MMD. HH is indeed underfive. He needs to given serious political lessons by VJ, Guy Scott, Mark Chona or Grey Zulu. Loyalty and patience in politics is crucial.

Let us be realistic in all fairness. I say this, because the so called up to nothing people e.g ZRC president Phiri are busy demonizing our good president for trying to expose the atrocities if not evils committed by the infamous Bwezani MMD minions. This country is blessed & if the previous corrupt regime meant well for us,we wouldn’t be wallowing in abject poverty & this is what our able leader “H.E.MC Sata” is trying to eradicate. Let us not talk the talk but we ought to walk the talk. Phiri should also understand the dictates of politics..Southern Province exhibits regional politics hence they will continue lamenting & lagging behind.Let them wait fir their under five up to nothing HH to appoint them ministers & if at all such a thing will ever come. They never supported us hence they have no room in our able new government

Whom does phiri want Sata to work with? Dora, george kunda,hh… The president must make his own team to perform. When there is change of government people loose jobs its not a taboo & he is doing it within the law, how can you can you work with people that opposed your candindature and principals.
Ba phiri think upright and be a man to face reality. For the president my words are; fire them that’s how the job is done all over the world.

So you live in Hell? Have a safe ride to your home, we dont belong there. But on a serious note, Phiri make yourself useful in life. You made money and mingled with the RB teams quietly, but this is no fun time, its working time. People have advised you and others insulted you, partly because you are insulting the zambians. you may ask how, but simple answer is that when you saw wrongs you didnt speak aganist MMD, now the people have chosen and you start mambling. Question is who do you represent? Everybody knows that you’re just acting an ***** because you want to decieve people that you’re relevant. opposite is the case though, we as zambians told you unhearing boss RB that we dont want him, and this goes with you as well. Please stay out of the ears of zmabians with your crap because you are irrelevant. Dont push zmabians to the tight corner to think of sorting you out wherever you are. keep quiet and find something else to do coz you are not needed by zmabians. you probably represent PIGS and not us Zmabian. You *****!

What phiri should understand at this point in time we want a person who can solve the problem of poverty and poor salaries in the nation which is the first priority. The tribe in Zambia is no longer valid we share same children and grand children within all the 73 tribes found in Zambia that is why Kaunda was busy telling you we are one Zambia one Nation and it is now real 100 yrs from now there will be no tribe any more. The most important thing is who can deliver to people’s expectation is what we want as of now.

There is no need of consultating Mr. Phiri naimwe. Some of these pipo have been in these offices for 10 years if not, moreover consultation for what now? We know some issues need consultations, but we don’t want consultations that will years. We want to do other things that will bring development. Did MMD government consult when selling Zamtel and Finance? Did we agree if we were consultated? Did we Mr. Phiri? We need positive criticisms and not intimadations. We want development.

Phiri, our well known action auriented king cobra is JUST “hissing”…..Screening and scanning through these institutions and individiuals. If you know you r one of the culprits, dont wait for a deadly “bite”, wise institutions/companies have heeded to the Just “hissing’of the cobra and adjusted salaries in line with “more money in the pockets” of once maginalised zambians(workers).eg C/Belt & its now trigering to Lsk. Indeed a new broom sweeps better. Phiri, are you hearing and heeding to the Hissing or waiting for a striking bite of a cobra????…….. “UKWALI NSOKE, TAKWAFWILILE MUNTU”,….. “KOLWE UUTALABENGWA,…. ENDA NA…”
