Dissolving RDA, NAPSA Boards Not Enough, Investigate And ‘Sweep’ Corrupt Activities Happening Beyond Boards

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has urged law enforcement agencies to quickly investigate the alleged corrupt activities that could have been happening in most public institutions and ensure that the public is informed on the outcome.
TIZ executive director Goodwell Lungu tells QFM that the changes being made by President Michael Sata in most of the public institutions are welcome.
Mr. Lungu notes institutions such as the Road Development Agency (RDA) and Energy Regulations Board (ERB) should account for their activities to the public.
Mr. Lungu says it is a well known fact that the previous government did not show political will in trying to address corruption activities.
He has cited the road projects that the previous government embarked on prior to the elections as some of the corrupt activities and has commended President Sata for dissolving the Road Development Agency (RDA) Board.
He notes that the projects were so sudden adding that they were not catered for in the national budget.

First I want to recomend TIZ for coming out in support. But when they investigate it scares me. (1) Some contracts were awarded without tender procedure, do you need to form a task force to know why it happened?(2)Napsa was involved in that land deal which if investigated u would hit a dead end.(3)And for Zesco I have nothin to say.For ERB, we know how far the president’s sons hands reached. I rest my case

zsic board should be disbanded too. we know those on top chose themselves not just on merit but on tribal lines and assciation. no wonder we don’t usually see job adverts in the media, from ZSIC. so the question is where and how do they employe new entrants? neeeeeeepotism, tribaaaaaaaaalism, etc

You are right. I saw that ZISC is full of nepotism. Do you remember Ireen Muyenga? All is rabbish nepotism in ZISC. Zambia should move from that if we have to develop
