PLOT To Have ZCTU Leaders ‘Axed’ Exposed And Ministers Involved Named

SCHEME to have Zambia Congress Of Trade Unions (ZCTU) leadership axed, has been exposed and the patriotic front ministers involved, named.
Minister of Labour, Sport and Youth, Fackson Shamenda and his deputy, Rayford Mbulu have hatched and put in motion an urgent plot to remove the current ZCTU and the Leonard Hikaumba Executive.
The two ministers have also engaged labour leaders that supported the PF in the past election to execute the plot.
The ministers are accusing the current ZCTU leadership of having supported the fallen government of the MMD.
Sources disclosed that the ministers Mr. Shamenda and Mr. Mbulu want to extend the changes done to government to the labour movement and Sport.
“The ministers have already helped Kalushya Bwalya fight his battles. They made the National Sports Council reverse the decisions of the National League and authorised Kalu to fire Dario Bonnet because he was brought by former president Rupiah Banda,” said the source to Tumfweko.
“It is for this reason that their gangs have now moved to the Labour movement,” Sources said.
Shamenda and Mbulu are both former leaders. Shamenda is former ZCTU President who took over from former president Frederick Chiluba. In 1996, Shamenda was challenged by Austin Liato and won by a single vote in a controversial move.
Mbulu is former president of the Mine Workers Union (MUZ).
At the last Congress held inLivingstone at the New Fairmount Hotel, Mbulu was prevented to stand to challenge Hikaumba through MMD Schemes.
Shamenda and Mbulu are using expelled members (based on Financial Scandals and other vices) from the public service unions to foment agitation against Hikaumba’s executive.
The duo has targeted the public service unions first so that their leadership is dissolved so this can cause ZCTU Executive to be dissolved too.

Should ZCTU and its leadership be politically affiliated and motivated. If its been that way then going forward it shouldnt be by all means or else we lose confidence and security. Clean up is inevitable.

I gave the vote of thanks on teachers day here in chongwe where I challenged the relevance of the Teacher unions and ZCTU following their dismal performance and apparent collusion with the MMD gorvernment. I dont know or have ever met Shamenda or Mbulu

Hikaumba & his team have outlived their usefulness in the ZCTU….its time they were replaced immediately! let the general membership rise up and ‘axe’ them out! Afterall, from all indications they were bedfellows with the prevuois regime, and will be a cancer to the new vision of the PF government.

You dont need to use underhand methods, just go in their books of accounts. From there you will be able to come up with a bag of frastrations enough to make them resign.

It is an undisputed fact that ZCTU leadership was pro MMD/RB. Hikaumba and Roy Mwaba must go. All trade unions affiliated to this movement led by cadres must rise and slap them the vote of on confidence.
