SATA Differs With The Post Newspapers

In a strange and sudden turn of events, Republican President, Michael Chilufya Sata has openly differed with The Post, Tumfweko understands.
Mr. Sata has condemned the public attacks against constitutional officers currently being run by The Post.
The Post in its editorials has recently called for the arrest and prosecution of Chief Justice, Ernest Sakala, High Court Judge, Evans Hamaundu and Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and former magistrate Jones Chinyama.
“I will not lead the country using a witch hunt. The attacks against individuals in the media who cannot defend themselves in public is uncalled for. Today, it will be them and tomorrow it will be me.” Sata said.
On Sunday 9th October, 2011, The Post ran an editorial objecting to official manoeuvres to make the current DPP, Chalwe Mchenga as High Court Judge.
On Monday 10th October, 2011, The Post ran a story attributing to Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) declaring “Mchenga cannot be High Court Judge”.
He condemned the culture that has emerged that scandalises individuals without evidence and promotes character assassination. President Sata said as a victim of such negative practices, he will not allow it to persist.
He said if any media organisation had evidence, such evidence should be taken to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
Sata also stated that if anyone was uncomfortable with the ACC, such evidence should be taken to him.
Mr. Sata was speaking Monday at State House when swearing-in two permanent secretaries.

Thats our watchdog – The Post! King Cobby better know and learn fast that zambians speak through The Post, tumfweko and other independent media organisations. We are with you Mr. President and very much committed to your ‘sweep clean’ cause but when we see something is wrong, how else are we supposed to ADVISE and CRITICISE you, Sir? Fine, give us your email address!

This article does not state in any way that Sata has differed with the Post. But anyway the editor or author of the article wants to draw some attention so we could stay on this blog hence the title! Mind game!

This is not true, if there is a news paper that contributed and helped pf win the last elections is the post it is not a secret we all know the hatred that was there between rb and the post just because of their support for pf. We are not saying the post should stop checks and balances no, both the ruling party, opposition and us the stake holders we should regard all news as a mirror we need to see how our country is being governed even those who govern they want to know whether they are providing a good service to people or not no matter how clean or smart one may appear to be you still need a mirror to make sure you look good and presentable to people.
