PASTOR Nevers Mumba And 11 Other Diplomats AXED With Immediate Effect
TWELVE Zambians accredited to different missions in various positions have had their contracts terminated ‘Axed’ with immediate effect.
Foreign affairs minister Chishimba Kambwili disclosed in an interview that the letters of termination of the contracts were with immediate effect.
“It’s with immediate effect, though we are aware of the fact that they have got three months in which to prepare themselves according to the conditions of service but the letters are with immediate effect. We are still discussing on the issue of the three months,” Kambwili said.
Kambwili named some of the high commisioners and ambassadors that have been recalled as Reuben Musakabantu-Malawi, Dr Nevers Mumbaa-Canada, Marina Nsingo-Botswana, Albert Muchanga-Ethiopia, Agness Ngoma-Mozambique and Dr Sipula Kabanje-Zimbabwe.
Others are Mervis Muyunda-Tanzania, General Isaac Chisuzi-Namibia, Anderson Chibwe-Malaysia, Christine Lambart-Kenya, Alexis Luhila-Nigeria and Professor Royson Mukwena-United Kingdom.
Kambwili named others of different ranks who have been recalled as Jeff Kaande, counselor-Japan and Doreen Mukanzo first secretary press-South Africa.
Asked on who the replacements are for those axed, Kambwili responded : “I think at the moment, replacements are not for public consumption because once the high commisioner and ambassador has been sent, first the country where they are sending him must respond to accept them. We will only give the names by the countries where they are going. For now, we are not able to give details in that regard,” said Kambwili.
“It’s against the diplomatic etiquete to announce the names before the recieving country actually write us confirming that they have accepted so that they can go and present their credentials.”

Sad about Dr Mumba his family was always good to mine, I wish him well, I’m sure PF governemtnt know why they are making the decisions they are making but this is most unfortunate for him.

I think Dorcas Chileshe who is in Ethiopia as Press Secretary must also come back. She is a strong MMD supporter and was always sending stories home aired in the media praising Rupiah about this and that just doing propaganda so that she stays longer in the foreign mission. Please ba Kambwili bombelenipo so that such people come back, they are too many. Shame on you bootlickers to continue staying abroad!!!!

Some of the embassies (if not all of them)in certain countries are just a waste of taxpayers money.why does there have to be a deputy ambassador,press aide etc.A certain guy at one of the embassies just does simple admin work at the embassy and doing errands for the ambassador and yet all his expenses are paid for,for hardly doing anything.These positions yamu foreign missions are seriously lobbyed for…ninkondo to get a position .Why can’t qualified professionals in international relations be given these positions and not party cadres who hardly know anything about the countries they’re sent to?Please ,the powers that be,look into this…pathetic!

Zambians lets move beyond party politics and be Zambians, making decisions that are best for the country, not on partizan lines.
If there are better candidates that will serve the country better, then fine, but if the recalls are simply to root out MMD appointees, then its a sad day for our beloved country.
Hating and taunting will not make our country better, lets show some love a pride. Zambia first !!!
