LIGHTENING Strikes Three To Death
Three members of the same family in Senanga have been burnt to death after lightening struck the house they were sleeping in.
The mother and her two children of Lianyi Village died between midnight and zero one hours Wednesday morning.
The deceased who have been identified as Rona Kashimbi aged 36, Chanika Chinyama aged eight and Manjenja Chinyama who was four years have been burnt beyond recognition.
A check by ZANIS found police inspecting the scene with the burnt bodies partially buried in the debris.
Police later decided to have the bodies buried immediately because of the bad state they were in.
Shenda Chinjenge who is the sister to the deceased mother says her sister’s house caught fire after a series of lightening following the heavy thunderstorm that hit the area some time after midnight.
Chinjenge says upon realising that her sister’s thatched house was on fire, she called for help but attempts to put off the fire by villagers proved futile.

@ tommy, your ‘good lord’ should have protected them instead of striking them dead. They probably said the ‘lords prayer’ before going to bed asking for protection. The solution to this problem is not praying to a fictional god, but to live in safe homes where lightining can not strike and burn people alive.

My condolences. When something like this happens we should all realise that death can strike at anytime and it can come from any direction. So let us all be ready by believing in Jesus and turning away from our wicked ways. This is how we can make ourselves ready.
