Embattled former republican President Rupiah Banda’s son James Banda has been nabbed and bundled into a police cell at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka.
Tumfweko has not yet established whether he was trying to flee the country or was checking in.
Two men in grey suits and one in a navy blue were seen and have appeared to ferry James Banda who had been detained in police custody at Kenneth Kaunda Airport in Lusaka.
The three men that moved with him to complete his clearance to the plane are believed to have been his lawyers.
James Banda is believed to have been destined for Democratic Republic of Congo in Katanga province at governor, Moses Katumbi this afternoon.
However, our staff on the ground is keeping vigil of whats happening there.

Problem is that abena Jimbo and brothers have become really loaded over the past 3 years. This wealth nEeds to be investigated because a good number of us know how there “businesses” were limping (they even dealt in salaula) before daddy became prez.
If its all accounted for then well and good but if proven otherwise…winangu azalila!

I can’t believe what people are saying here. What fine has said is quite true. You chaps are so blind or ****** tht these simple gimmicks of diverting attention are working. Let me remind you of a few things. Hmcs stated that taxes would be the first thing to be dealt with, has it happened? No, govt has been waffling! Then it was minimum wage within a week, has it been revised?no! This corruption stuff can be dealt with at any time. Right now it should be about workers rights and more money in our pockets. Not these unnecessary pronouncements about lexus vehicles which won’t put food on the table.

To all seriously minded citizens, let us assist this gov’t deliver it’s promises by providing checks and balances. The honeymoon is OVER! Allow the security and investigations wings do their job on proven and suspected corrupt practices. A tip would be to review ALL the gov’t contracts.
The PF gov’t shud now concetrate on delivery of the promises. Lets be REAL, the expectations are VERY HIGH (the spontaneuos srike actions by workers all over). The creation of JOBS. The delivery of the new Constitution. We do not need to start paying sitting allowances again. Please spare us this wastage. We know the contetious issues such as 50+1 marjority for Presidential vote, Parliament approval of gov’t loans, Freedom of information Bill, etc.
We can understand the election victory euphoria going on especially after change of gov,t. But as a tax payer, i need to hold them accountable. I want to see my tax put to good use and not be spent in meeting(‘sitting’?) allowances, task force this, task force that. That is equally wastage. We already have institutions that will do the job on the salaries we already pay them. Otherwise, will be caught in the same cobweb the President is talking about.
Those that stole our money shud equally pay back. They shud be held accountable. But the gov’t shud avoid making inflamatory statements
I also agree with the observation that the gov’t shud drop the opposition hangover. They shud avoid inflamatory political statements. MMD did the same when elected to power in 1991, to the extent of bringing Scotland YARD to invetsigate KK, and we simply wasted money becuase nothing sinister was established.
They are now in charge. Hon. G. Lubinda, pls ensure the Freedom of Information Bill is enacted immediately. Do not delay.

But why cant we just debate properly without the use of profanities. We all swear when are having a laugh at the pub but this is no forum for that. This platform is for articulating issues concerning our common good as Zambians. I wish to urge fellow bloggers to be constructive and sober then we will together help the Government sort out issues that affect ALL of us ZAMBIANS. Happy birthday Zambia and congratulations to the King Cobra and the PF Government!
Fine!

#the prince,
So according to you if SATA does wrong he is not unjust, but if someone else does wrong he is unjust, right?
To you, Merzaf scandle is just because it was SATA involved and not someone else?
To you depositing government money by SATA into his account is just, but it someone did it it is unjust?
To you, matcheting people in Chawama by Nakawala and SATA is just, but if someone else did it the it’s unjust?
To you, SATA supporting Savimbi is just but someone else supporting Savimbi is unjust?
To you, nurses publicly stating they are for PF and SATA even while MMD was in power is just but if they said they supported MMD then they are cobwebs according to SATA, and SATA is just in doing so?
To you, SATA is just in violating constitutional provisions in his appointments, disolution and creation of ministries, appointing PF cadres to head commisions and not seeing them as cobwebs and appointing PF cadres into civil service?
You say SATA is already president (which we all know), so all those who were unjust will go down. Is SATA himself JUST because he is president? I thought someone is just because of the right they do, not because of their position.
Pretending that we are dull will not help any of us, because we are in real life and not a movie. Those who act the character of ‘dull person’ in a movie are justified because they are simply acting and are paid for that. Now you, what is your benefit in doing so????

Musonda I share your disdain for tribalist remarks and tribalism in general. Street kid i agree with you that insults must stop regardless of language, but i am not in agreement with accusing one tribe, as Musonda points out even non Bembas speak Bemba. Ine ndi mu lozi buti ichi bemba chena ndalanda, nakulile ku Kitwe, uku tukana nsele kuti natukana kwena but nshifwaya, i can express myself without resorting to insults and tribalism.
