GUY Scott Stuck In An Elevator At ZIMCO House For 30 Minutes

REPUBLICAN Vice President, Dr Guy Scott was on Sunday 23rd October, afternoon stuck in an elevator at ZIMC house.
Coincidentally, this marked 30 days of the patriotic front (PF) stay in government and Guy Scott getting stuck for 30 minutes in the elevator.
Scott, who was from Radio Phoenix which is situated at the ZIMCO House, was stuck on the 8th Floor for about for 30 minutes until ZAL Elevators technician came and rescued him.
At this stage, Scott’s security had broken the locks and was battling with the Elevator doors.
ZAL Elevators Managing Director Smart Phiri has however blamed Scott’s entourage for the mishap alleging that the Lift was probably overloaded.
“Those lifts are old. They do not have a warning signal or light that shows that it is overloaded. The modern elevators will not close if it is overloaded,” Phiri said.
Phiri however promised to investigate and establish what caused the malfunction of the ancient elevator.
Radio Phoenix Proprietor, Errol Hickey blamed ZAL Elevators technicians for the mishap wondering why they left the station even when he had informed them that Mr. Scott will be in the House.
Witnesses however blamed lapse at the Vice-President’s security for allowing many people to board the Elevator. The Elevator was carrying 11 people that included Scott’s staff, his security and ZNBC reporters and cameraman and their equipment.

Why not install new ones then?

Mr Phiri please don’t show us how incompetent you are. you get a lot of money for those lifts, why not change them unlike using the same things Kaunda left, you are seriously a big risk to your company ~Zal~ if you can’t make a decision on improving what feeds your belly.

Oh Hail Learned Mike Kawana. I wish to pose a question to you. Is it the responsibility of ZAL Elevators to buy new lifts? Or are they just hired to maintain the existing ones?

That Mr Phiri should just own up and admit that his lifts are obselete rather than blaming the veep and his entourage.Would HE have yapped that nonsense if something bad had happened to such an important offical?

Everyone is blaming someone as usual nobody wants to take responsibility of what happened. The fact is that the elevators are old and they do not service them regularly but when they malfunction. Those elevators are death traps and something needs to be in all those old building with elevators which were made in 19 chakuti!

ZAL are not owners of the elevators bt ZIMCO is. Cnt blame phiri as their job is to maintain them.as you heard, they are old & probably its spares may also be scarce,so they recycly same old parts.atleast the Vp hz a report to do

Mpondela must be fired. If he knew the elevators were old did he have to wait for the VP to get stuck or smell death for him to realize that the equipment required replacement? Fire that MMD stooge of a CEO at the NHA. He is useless, dangerous an inimical to the nation!!

But these lifts have been acting up even before and to so many people have been stuck in them…and the Veep is not the first to be stuck in them…so whoever is responsible pls get your acts together and work on them (elevators).
