REPUBLICAN President Michael Sata has appointed Berlin Msiska as new Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Commisioner General.
President Michael Sata has made the appointment in accordance with the provisions of Section 19 [1] of the Zambia Revenue Authority Act, Cap 321 of the Laws of Zambia.
“Our new Commissioner General has impeccable credentials. It is for this reason that I have a deep sense of confidence in his professionalism and competence. I have looked at the records and I am fully satisfied that he is a hardworking and patriotic Zambian as manifested by his record of service during his initial tenure as the first indigenous Commissioner General of the Zambia Revenue Authority,” said Mr. Chikwanda about Mr. Msiska.
Mr. Chikwanda, who was flanked by Finance Deputy Minister Alfreda Kansembe and Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba, said the Zambia Revenue Authority was the nerve centre of resource mobilisation in the country and on which financing of development programmes was heavily dependent.
“In this regard, you will fully be supported to execute your mandate without fear, favour or undue influence by all of us at the treasury. Do not tolerate smugglers and tax evaders. Streamline areas like VAT refund administration, Customs and Mines Audit Operations and let us know the areas in which you might need re-enforcement”, Mr. Chikwanda said.
Mr. Msiska has also been urged to maintain high levels of integrity and seal the loopholes across all tax administration operational areas in order to marshal resources uplift the welfare of Zambians and eradicate poverty through efficient and effective operations of the Zambia Revenue Authority.
Msiska is currently the IMF Resident Advisor at the Mauritius based Africa Regional Technical Assistance Centre [ARTAC] representing thirteen Countries in Africa.

Well, not this recycled chap. Credentials he has but he is not the right chap for ZRA. . . Unless to those who do not know the circumstances in which the former PEP manager left. . . . Let the young dudes take over and move on.

Fellow bloggers, know that Berlin wasn’t fired because of corruption.
This man refused to give-in to political pressure whenever the MMD wanted to do something favouring them. Check the record for yourself where tax invaders are concerned. Most of the politicians owe ZRA alot of Millions in terms of tax.
Hence they fired him.
I would rather maintain my integrity even if a carrot is dangled in my face.

Fellow Zambians, let’s change our mind set.
Don’t wait for someone to employ you.
Create employment if possible. Unemployment is a global problem now.
Don’t think that any political party will create alot of jobs. NO! NO!whether PF,MMD,UNDP,ZRA,UNIP and my party CYM (Change your mindset).
Change starts with us.
