Chipolopolo Boys coach Herve Renard has maintained the core of the squad which he took to the 27th edition of African Cup of Nations in Angola with Supersport United full back Davies Nkausu and Jimmy Chisenga of Red Arrows coming on for the injured Kampamba Chintu and out of favour Hichani Himonde as the only changes.
There was also no places for Sudanese based in-form striker Jonas Sakuwaha, who was tipped for a possible recall while Fwayo Tembo, still believed to be stuck in Lusaka as he move to Qatar from Swiss side FC Basel has stalled has rightly so being omitted. Renard has also given a clear indication that left back Emmanuel Mbola, who is serving a four month suspension which is due to end on at around January 31, 2012 is in his plans though there’s a possibility of the 18 year old missing the group stage fixtures against Senegal, Libya and Equatorial Guinea. The Frenchman could have thought if the country’s target is an appearance in the final and that’s three more games, who am I to leave the talented Mbola was England, which is a quarter final team will be carrying Wayne Rooney despite the Manchester United set to miss the first three matches at Euro 2012 in June next year. One player, who could be outdone by the omission is Israeli based midfielder Justine Zulu but everything indicated that the 6’2 former under-20 was never in the Frenchman’s plan. Adding to his three caps he won under Dario Bonetti will take something special. Should the players come out unscathed from the next two weekend’s matches for their respective clubs then the battle will turn to starting places with Collins Mbesuma and Isaac Chansa’s position in doubt. Local lad Thomas Nyirenda is also rated a doubt having missed Konkola Blades’ Barclays Cup semi-final 2-1 triumph over Nkana as he is nursing a knee injury. Meanwhile the Frenchman has said that he is targeting on going on ‘better than what we did in Angola’ and that means reaching the last four at next month’s African Cup of Nations to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. “Our minimum target is to do better than what we did in Angola (Nations Cup 2010)”. That means we want to go to the semi-finals and when we reach the semi-finals, we can dream about the final and why not even win it. It will be difficult but we will be ready.” “I want to emphasise that our immediate target is to qualify out of our group. But we must always remember that it’s always dangerous to play the hosts as we will do with Equatorial Guinea and Senegal is one of the best in Africa while against Libya, we know that we didn’t beat them in the qualifiers but we have to do better and must beat them there. We must be among the top two in the group and we want to win it,” “In the last Africa Cup we were not given a chance to qualify from a tough group but we won it where against the favourites Cameroun, Tunisia and Gabon. We will do better,” Full Squad Goalkeepers: Kennedy Mweene (Free State Stars, South Africa), Jacob Banda (Zesco United), Kalililo Kakonje (TP Mazembe, Congo DR). Defenders: Dennis Banda (Green Buffaloes), Davies Nkausu (Supersport United, South Africa), Emmanuel Mbola, Stoppilla Sunzu (TP Mazembe, Congo DR), Jimmy Chisenga (Red Arrows), Joseph Musonda (Golden Arrows, South Africa), Nyambe Mulenga (Zesco United). Midfielders: Isaac Chansa (Orlando Pirates, South Africa), Noah Chivuta (Free State Stars, South Africa), Francis Kasonde, Rainford Kalaba (both TP Mazembe, Congo DR), Felix Katongo (Green Buffaloes), Clifford Mulenga (Bloemfontein Celtics, South Africa), William Njobvu (Hapoel Ironi Kiryat, Israel), Strikers: Christopher Katongo (Henan Jienye, China), James Chamanga (Dalian Shide, China), Emmanuel Mayuka (BSC Young Boys, Switzerland), Collins Mbesuma (Golden Arrows, South Africa), Jacob Mulenga (FC Utrecht, Netherlands) and Given Singuluma (TP Mazembe, Congo DR).

What about Harry Milanzi? FAZ is hurting the country by not including this player – he’s been top scorer in Angola for two consecutive seasons, and the Angolan league is quite tough. When it comes to National priorities please bury your differences with players, this tendency cost us alot in the days of the late Zoom Ndhlovu. Put ZAMBIA FIRST, PLEASE!

Looking at teams that are participating in the next africa cup,it is only wise to raise our hopes and aims than wishing to reach the last four only. This is Zambia’s chance and we should go for it big time

Sinkala should not come anywhere near the national team as opposed to Alego – Netherlands who is calling for his consideration. ‘face it: it’s one thing to differ with a coach, it is another to differ with every coach. He is a problem and that has effectively shelved him to the archives

We are failing to perform well bkoz of pipo like Kalu who takes bribes from young players.Sinkala refused Ukucheka thats y he ia always left.As for Renard,he must realize that we see everything he does,he dumped our team and went to angola hoping the world will see him and offer him Man U to coach, that is foolish.Lets use Patrick Phiri

Am sure the coach knows that we have a lot of strikers and hence the leaving out of some but am very positive we need Fwayo and Sakuwaha in this team than Singuluma. The two play well in the wings and hence there inclusion would have added valued and given Collins and Jacob room to score. Please consider them as soon as possible.

Leaving out Fwayo,Sakhuwaha and Sinkala is not ok.Kalu you are not good because all you want players ukulakuchekela. You hate players that will stand and speak the truth like Sinkala.Elyo you are 2 jealousy. These three players we need them and the time is now.call them so that they prove to the nation and to you what they are capable of doing.Always listen to others ekwishiba ifintu Kalu.
