Tekere??? My foot. Is MMD really serious about surviving in opposition? 5 years without tax payers can be a very long time. Unless u want Hem’Md Hundertaker (new HH) to swallow u like Jonah.

Why retiring after losing? ba RB u should ve retired when u were still in plot 1, then we shud ve seen wisdom in u as it is to Nelson Mandela. RB you the one to blame for the down fall of mmd. Those guys aspiring for top job in mmd are just waisting time. MMD is dying like UNIP. Anyway i thank u for handing over power in peace, God bless u but next time dont cry wen u lose ba RB.

Rupiah reminds me of a guy, after we had contributed our dubiously obtained coins (Ngwees)with a view to play a football match (Ichimpombwa)against a neighbouring compound/township team so as to raise enough money for our Chibuku on New years eve, the guy scored in our on goal and we lost the game 1-0 plus the money. When we tried to question him and make him realise the messy he had put us in, he just said “nafumamo mwi team, mwilaisa muku nsedako mukuteya bola”.

Ba PF, dont just criticise us! Instead, help us pick a leader. You seem to appreciate bantustans more than us. You need us as well in the opposition for checks and balances. Please forget the crying RB.

    @TWICE PANKOLOKO:
We’ll help you. Of the names above, Mutati is your best choice. We need your contribution, not necessarily checks and balances. The problem with our parties is that a few fools make us all look bad, but we who take time to see the larger picture can actually co-operate above that party pettiness even as we continue supporting our respective parties. Some of us are interested in the well-being of everyone, which is brought about by many people of different walks and persuasions. If some brilliant chaps emerge from your camp and do the right thing, ah, some of us will support. Good you got rid of the old man.

“I have to day sacked two MPs, I will follow you in your respective constituences and defeat you”.Ba RB, we all know that power is sweet, but ifi, tefyo bacita. You blocked a lot of vibrant MMD members to lead the part just because of the way you handled issues. Apa mwalusa elyo insoni shaisa, its not good! Multpartism should not be interpreted as holding on to power, its a dcision for the people to be led by a choice of the majority, ACIMWENE MWAONA MANJE!

PF want to choose the MMD president?

MMD know that if PF prefer Mutati then he is the wrong choice for MMD. Tekere looks like the man to me. Tekere can be sly like the cobra and has the advantage of having brains at the same time. He can beat Sata pants down in 5 years time if not before….Mutati is the definition of a whimp, he will only be supported by PF and tribal Kolwestans.

    November 4, 2011 at 2:13 am

@Monkey Govt: I hope for argument’s sake that they do adopt William. As a friend I can suggest that even the little support you would get from your non-members willing to give you a chance would disappear. I also foresee defections in that equation. Remember that you need to lure back some votes, as well as not lose those you already have. Ask yourselves why you lost those votes. Otherwise, as a party its your business. Its only my business as a Zambian who looks carefully at what I will support or otherwise.

  22. (P)refarably (F)lexible

    November 4, 2011 at 2:14 am

None of us were born PF, and many of us voted MMD at some point, by the way. If we’re to do that again in the future you want to give us a good reason, and a good candidate.

  23. (P)refarably (F)lexible

    November 4, 2011 at 2:18 am

Just because we voted for someone else does not make us your enemy, or incapable of sound judgement and honest interest in the well being of potential leaders from sources outside our preferred party of the moment. Its not about parties. Its about ALL Zambians getting access to the cake, and a team of people who can deliver that.

  24. (P)refarably (F)lexible

    November 4, 2011 at 2:26 am

What we need is not necessarily one party or the other, but brilliant chaps across the board working together for the betterment of the nation and its peoples.

Extintion,Extinction…..Bankrupt MMD now desperate for a president, thats what happens when old men think they will rule for ever, they don’t groom fresh blood but wish to be surrounded by old thieves who find state house to be a “tandizo house” when selfishness blinds incumbents.

What is this about ”EMBATTLED” former President Rupiah Bwezani Banda? He is not embattled. The fact that he lost elections does classify him to be embattled.

  28. Sobenecho

    November 4, 2011 at 5:18 am

if I were Mutati adviser I would tell him to stay away from the MMD leadership at the moment, it is a party that needs an experience politician who has nothing to loose, if Mutati has plans of becoming President he does not want to go into a situation where the public ratings are very low!

Clearly, RB destroyed the party others toiled to build with his selfish craving for power and wealth. Those dumb who were still in MMD let him do as he pleased, raping the party, the country and its coffers because MMD was not their brain child. Study all of them, which of the faces were there in 1990 when Arthur Wina, Edith Nawaki, FTJ, Aka, Derrick Chitala, Levy P Mwanawasa, Humprey Mulemba, Sikota Wina, Fred M’membe and other forgotten heroes were being demonised by UNIP hooligans including Tekere who assited Rupia in destroying the MMD. RB – you should have gone long before now. You should not have accepted to run for president knowing fully well you did not even qualify.

Kolwestans, Bantustans, Koswestans or Finyaustans; It matters only which stan, ism or chant convinces more Zambians to vote for them. In the end they all do the same rubbish of disappointing Zambians.
Who will take Us to next level of principled leadership. Ama Kolwestans, despite the support have started frightening us with corrupt ladden decisions.

Quite honestly, anyone who was a politician during the struggle for Zambian Independence, which we attained 47 years ago should not be in politics now. Some the people being nominated were in politics even 20 years before our Independence, meaning they’ve been at it for at least 60 years! And do you realise that this even way longer than Zambia’s life expectance? When are you going to leave it to modern minds to take over? And do those young people who’re nominating this dead wood realise that they themselves are the future?

If only Mutati stood as MMD presidential candidate in the just ended elections, things would have been different. But because of few foolish individuals who kept on cheating RB that he is popular, MMD is gone forever. Its too late for Mutati to change anything coz we dont want chaps likes Shikapwasha, William Banda, Siliya etc. etc. to come back and mentally torture us. Its like bye bye polio……

Any visionary, pragmatic leader should resist the temptation to aspire for MMD presidency. MMD president is as good as a mortuary attendant. Preside over dead bodies with full conviction of no miracle of resurrection. All plundered funds during last election campaigns have been squandered, left-overs went in former leaders’ pockets (e.g. that excess cash on William; bicycles and vehicles at police posts). For how long will serving MMD MPs continue funding the party, now that ‘Chinese’ financiers crossed over to PF after state house lunchone? Most likely, also 30% of MMD MPs will lose seats after electoral petitions. Think twice before joining MMD presidential race!

MMD might not like this but the best person to help them right now is Peter Magande. With him at the helm, they have a chance of bouncing back and the party will not be seen as tribalist.

I WOULD GO FOR LUKUKU….JUST THE KIND OF VIBRANT YOUNG MAN MMD NEEDS TO BOUNCE BACK IN 2016 (YOU HEARD ME 2016)….HE CAN BE ASSISTED BY TEKERE BANDA as VP.
EVEN PF and UPND must start looking for fresh leadership..
    PF–>EMMANUEL MWAMBA
    UPND –> EDWIN LIFWEKELO
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, THESE ARE THE VIBRANT YOUNG PEOPLE OF HIGH INTEGRITY AND VISION WE NEED IN THE COUNTRY

pointing of old men in this administration is one way of protecting our pride as a Country. This old men some are already established in society.Yes they have been in politics longer enough when some us were not even born at that time.
We have vibrant young men with vision of greedy when you compare the two the old and the new people. An old man in Office will look at the embarassing aspect. He has to protect his integrity. The young has to build himself with time.He has a lot of ambitions. What does it mean? You will have a lot of unfaith dealings which will lead you to be exposed and temptations while Office. You want to enrich yourself at the expense of poor majority people.Old men do fear embarassing other people like relatives and Churches where they do congregate.Am not saying all old men are good to be in public Offices, also profile matters on the same old men we have all over the World.
