MMD Condemns Electoral Petitions

The MMD denied assertions of a power vacuum or struggle in its ranks and it has further formally announced the party presidency vacancy.

MMD Spokesperson, Dora Siliya has also announced that aspirants have up to this month-end to apply.

Ms Siliya has further stated that the decision also goes for the vacant National Executive Committee positions.

And Ms Siliya has attributed the MMD’s loss in the 20th September general elections to its failure to relate with the needs of urban areas.

Ms Siliya has outlined water supply, improved sanitation and unemployment as among the needs the MMD did not meet.

Meanwhile, Ms Siliya has accused the Patriotic Front of attempting to weaken the opposition by opting to petition results of 50 parliamentary seats. She has further stated that the MMD will reject maneuvers to take the country back to one part state.

If you fail to relate to the needs of tax payers, what kind of government was MMD running? No wonder you were behaving like hyenas instead of looking after the people.

MMD may never rule again yes BUT remember that Sata is making worse mistakes including the ones MID has outlined above. Sata is definitely not one of us. Power corrupts. He now talks and dines with Chinese infestors, Xaviour, Muluzi, Bakili, Mugabe, Kaunda, Mwamba e.t.c. Can anyone sincerely show me at least one thing Sata has done for the poor who put him in office after one month? NOTHING! Don’t say too early to judge because five weeks is long enough a period to gauge productivity. Sata is an impotent hot air balloon.Chanda Chimba was 100% right.

Dora sure ulibe nansoni! You tell me one month the big Madala has done nothing? Have 4gotten,that fuel was reduced by 500K?Banks are reducing their base rates which will definately and positively affect cash issues in our transactions? Are you not aware that many govt wings are being headed by more credible though not 100% perfect guys?Havent you observed that SATA is able to reverse wrong decisions fast?Who did that in the last 20years?Havent you watched in ZNBC TV that for the first time anyone can go to TV and oppose the president and his men? OK fingi,in less than 90days! Now compare with RB,Zamtel, salaries for MPs,Napsa, flying all over,Zanama markets,ZNBC abuse, mongu riots,I here Prof Luo is moving at a great speed in her ministry – ok fingi! Not one of these were attended to.Guys we need to think when we criticize. For your own information,Chinese are hear to stay!Have you seen Mwanawasa stadium of late. Its a great master-piece.Chinese are fast in development. We need to use them! The strongest roads here have been done by Chinese. The west has done very little to help Africa.Chinese they Get and Bring but Bazungu they Get and Go!Ask Felix mutati about Chambeshi economic Zone, baba this is quickly becoming a beautiful place. So Lets be careful who we befriend.HE MCS is right in creating harmony between Us and Chinese.Words like fixing them were mere campaign words. And we needed that language that time. But its now business!Iya kwa Xavier yali BAD but chi mudala,is able to listen!Fa mie he’s my man!HE IS ABLE TO LISTEN TO PEOPLE.WE ARE BETTER BAKAMBA!

The petitions are supposed to ensure the will of the pipo prevails and not “create” MMD MPs for the sake of “avoiding” a one party state. If u rigged to win a constituency, results must be contested.

Dora deserves to be insulted because she was very rude and she poured too much insults on HE MCS and accused him of terrible things. She is simply reaping what she sow. People must know that what we do unto others, someone else is gonna do it unto us. I do personally do feel sorry for her, because she is actually not different from the people insulting her!

I am a PF supporter both in side and out. I feel that the President has missed the point on his appointment of people in the country to assit him. I bet he has a point in who he appoints but the fact that some of these people he is appointing gave him hell when he was in the opposition is enough reason to side line them. As PF supporters we are not asking for any appoint ments but do equally do not want to see those that insulted us get them. We are seeing those that played a part to the loss of the PF in 2006 , 2008 being paid. Those of us who were vigilant seeing to it that no votes were stolen side lined. I know the argument is that it is not only the PF cadres that voted for the PF, but these were the drivers that gave the people that hope that nothing will be done to their votes. So the president should also look at these PF cadres who are ably qualified to take up these positions being given to the opposition. I shuder to imagine what would happen if these PF caders withdrew from monitoring any elections because they feel left out. The appointment of known crooks and thieves should never be tolarated for what ever reason. Good or bad. this is turnishing the image of the Gvt and the president. Who ever is advising the president on some of these appointments should have a mental check.

For once I agree with Dora Siliya about attempts by PF to weaken the opposition and rule as a one party state. Zambians should reject of wasting money for unnecessary bye elections.

    Good morning Zambia,

So much has been heard and said, most of it suggesting one thing that people are not happy with Dora hence the insults.

The best thing for Dora i think is to resign from active politics. this i think is in the best interest of the public looking at the responses she gets each time she appears.

Dora, try something else in life possibly you can do better and save yourself these insults. Maybe the country can fogive you when you do something else coz its true you errored my sister by the insults you produced at some point.

let us not insult her but teach her good ways.

    MAY GOD BLESS ZAMBIA.

Amazing how an election defeat can humble people! Dora I agree with you that Zambia should not be dragged back to the one-party-state days, but your observation about why MMD lost sounds a bit ****** because it’s just an admission on your part that you were not delivering on your key performance areas, which did not require an election for you to see. You were busy travelling the world shopping and searching for RB CAPITAL!

I agree with all the bloggers calling on Dora to take the back stage. When you go to extents Dora went (undressing herself in public), people start to see u naked….They start ‘seeing’ your BIG BUMS even when you are dressed.
In the eyes of the people Dora is naked….she undressed herself and people see a naked woman every time Dora shows herself. Reaping were you sawed Dora?

People of God in Zambia do not show the world how dirty your thinking is by putting dirty words on this site. I like reading and comment on this blog but I hate vulgar language.

I agree with you guys asking Dora to resign. There is just too much shame on Dora that she is supposed to just quit a live a quiet life somewhere. I think she would not be spit on if she first quits active politics.

I pray for a time when there will be clean people in the politics of our mother zambia.

political leaders you must learn that you are not above the people who put you in offices.ms siliya its better you keep quiet. you are the one who made mmd loose together with znbc, times, dairy,rb, william banda, zanama. you can fool some people some time but you can’t fool all the people all the time.mr sata check yourself you are the next one to cry after rb because of your association with chuungu, mwamba and the old unip guys you are bringing in. zambia is for youths becoz we are the majority but which youth did you appoint?.

Dora, people are free to petition if or when they are aggrieved. This is a democratic world and dont cry foul when you guys (MMD) brought this on yourselves. You were the govt in charge of the show, to mention just a few, we saw people hiring cabs to ferry marked ballot papers, one MMD chief in Luapula had marked ballot papers at his palace, Eastern province was seen ferrying people in truck to go and cast votes at “special” MMD polling stations, a van ferring marked ballot papers burnt to ashes, the list is endless, you guys and ECZ never stopped or condemned all that. You brought it upon yourselves and not PF, so stop crying like you didnt know what was happening. If such things never occured, ZP would not today be in possession of such materials. We are done with you. So SHUT UP!

  40. Miya

    November 7, 2011 at 12:35 pm

Petitions are in order because of the massive rigging which happened. It was unprecedented. MMD campain budget was huge, more than independence day celebrations for the entire nation. All those fitenge, fitambala. caps. wrist bands, sweets, vehicles, bicycles etc. My son told me’ku Unza utuma caps tumo tusha twaposa fye mu bin walaya. Point is all this was rigging, vote buying etc. So let them petition, nothing wrong with petitioning if you are grieved
