JERABOS On The Copperbelt Celebrate Dr Malama’s DEPARTURE
ORGANIZED copper theft syndicates, popularly known as ‘JERABOS’ on the Copperbelt have celebrated the move by government to elevate Copperbelt police Commanding Officer Dr Martin Malama to the rank of Inspector General, thereby moving him to Lusaka.
But Copperbelt Deputy Police Commissioner Milner Muyambango has warned that Dr Malama left such a firm foundation the JERABOS cannot crack it and that the police have capacity to fight crime at whatever level.
During his reign as regional Commanding Officer , Dr Martin Malama reduced the levels of copper thefts to the minimum, leading to the near extinction of the Jerabos.
According to Zedleaks, Mr. Muyambango said police have recovered an AK47 assault rifle from one Charles Chomba after searching his house, following a tip off from the general public.

Jerabos are going down, we the POLICE will not relent on our quest to free our Kitwe pipo, and the general community for being harrased by these useless chaps called Jerabos. The Dr has left a mark and the New commisioner Mary Tembo is as strong as Dr Malama. So if the think you can now get with them , you will be shocked . Bravo Dr Malama.

The reduction of theft to a ‘minimum’ level could have better been sustantiated with some statistics. Otherwise the whole thing reads like hearsay to say the least.

Jerabos and other criminals of violent acts would not be extinct sepecies as long as Zambians admire ill – gotten wealth. Even in current govt, there are those with with ill – gotten wealth.

The police force on the copperbelt requires a major clean up.Its not all but there a few who needs to be sorted out.
Peaple won’t give the data but if you introduce some tokens to those who have information, all the culprits will be known.

Wrong celebration! Dr Malama is more powerful than you used to know him. Besides that he knows JERABO life. If the police officers who are there fail to execute their duties of which so far is not possible, Dr Malama is at liberty to send a new forceful team. Dr Martin Malama is a servant of this nation and he knows what it means to be in security department,he is a man who can not be corrupted,thats why he was promoted to the highest rank in the service,so those celebreting for his depature,you are waisting your time because he know all the jerabos in copperbelt and he will be giving directives to his juniors,mwafwa no kufwa.

the zambia police lost control of the copperbelt when mutetwa took over as commissioner. when dr malama took over he restored diginity into the force. there is too much street bulling/bus drivers drink tojilijil on the road, and general indiscipline on the line of rail.its not a question on bring in new guys on cb but there is need for the general public to raise up and flush some of these jerabo.we should just administer mob justice on them as police are failing us all the time.
