RECALLED Zambia striker Jonas Sakuwaha is likely to miss Chipolopolo’s two-match tour of India next week because of league commitments back at his Sudanese club El Merreikh.
Zambia with a team of mostly home-based players will undertake a week-long visit in Goa from November 23 to 29.
Sakuwaha, who currently leads the Sudanese top scorers chart on 18 goals, is due to play for El Merreikh in their big Khartoum derby away to defending league champions Al Hilal on November 23.
“They (Zambia) they are leaving on the 23rd that’s the day we will be playing our game. Maybe I will go but I still don’t know,” Sakuwaha said.
Sakuwaha indicated that FAZ has suggested that he joins the team separately in India but it all depended on El Merreikh’s approval at a crucial time of the season and moreover the tour does not fall on FIFA match dates.
El Merreikh currently enjoy a five-point lead over second placed Al Hilal at the top of the Sudan league table on 66 points from 23 games played three matches left to play.

Are they going for a soccer match or cricket to Goa, India? FAZ should be serious on the countries they select for matches if they want to build a strong team for CAN 2012. India is a about cricket and no soccer. Why didn’t they try South Korea or Japan if they wanted to sample Asian football?

Sakuwaha’s recalling to the national team is what every soccer fan was waiting for. Thats good news.He can miss the India trip but FAZ should make it a [point that he is among the players for the Gabon/ Equetorial Guine outing in January. He is the man who can give us the much needed goals in patnership with other strikers.
Well done Faz.

The bwoy Jonas can play on either flank, hez a better option than Felix for two simple reasons: (i) Jonas has been playing consistently for a team leading the table (no question bout fitness), (ii) Jonas has been scoring in every other game making him a perfect replacement for the injured Jacob.

Why India and not spain or Portugal? Let’s aim high. Egypt played Brazil, when will Zambia ever think of playing friendly games with the likes of Brazil, Germany, Portugal, etc?

I think FAZ executive have lost mind, taking the national team to India is waste of time.It is as good as playing friendlies with Kalewa,Nkwazi,Kambuku & Zanama B Rovers.FAZ be serious.
