PF In Livingstone Call For Resignation Of Southern Province Minister

The Patriotic Front (PF) in Livingstone is calling for the immediate resignation of Southern Province minister Lukulo Katombora on moral grounds.

The Ruling Patriotic Front in Livingstone has accused the minister of engaging in corrupt practices and poor representation of the Livingstonians in parliament.

Livingstone district PF chairman Freddie Chibuye said during a protest today that it was unfortunate for the minister, who is also the MMD area Member of Parliament produced a fake medical document to the courts, which has resulted to the adjournment of his petitioned sit.

Meanwhile, Patriotic Front Provincial Youth chairman Brave Mweetwa said the party is certain that the minister engaged in corrupt practices to ensure that the health practitioner signs the fake note.

He said the PF can never tolerate corrupt officials, as it is allergic to corruption.

Speaking earlier, PF district Chairlady Sheena Muleya said the ruling party will be alert to ensure all leaders engaged in corruption on the expense of service delivery are brought to book.

And PF Akapelwa ward councillor Paul Sensele said it was shocking to learn that Mr Katombora presented a sick note before the courts when he had previously been seen in a jovial mood and in good health on the previous day.

He further called on the police to fully investigate the alleged corruptly obtained sick note, which had been confirmed to have been wrongly obtained from a junior medical personnel by general hospital management.

The hearing of the case in which UPND and PF have petitioned the Livingstone parliamentary sit have consequently been adjourned to the 13 to 15 TH of next month.

Well looks like the man knows the fate so he has to find ways of sticking on in that position. Well let he has not yet enkoyed the fruits and benefits so the court is kind enough to give him another chance by adjourning to next month.

The man expected he to win together with MMD so that arranging biz will be easy. He won and PF won – so he is lost now and this applies to a number of opposition MPs – how to recoup campaign expenses when your party can control “deals” or “contract” anymore. Ni kolwe mu town – dizzy!

It look like he is IMMUNE to corruption as opposed to Mr Sata’s ‘allergy’. PF are failing to fire him, he can do it as the immunity protects him

Regardless of the outcome of the petition, which can only be delayed, the people of eld Livingstone or indeed anywhere else that By-elections shall be held should not allow the opposition in parliament to be sqeezed out. The danger is that when you have a government such as the current one, there is a danger of certain laws that may not be in favour of the democratic despensation we have enjoyed thus far being inverted.
Be assured, if the citizenry is not concious, we risk state emergencies, persecutions, third term bids and unfairly distrbuted development.

Regardless of the outcome of the petitions, which can only be delayed, the people of livingstone or indeed anywhere else that by-elctions are bound to be held,Zambians should realise the danger of having a parliarment dorminated by the ruling party.

We should not allow the opposition to be sqeezed out as this will be to our own peril.Dangers include state of emergecies where the state can create a situation to justify their action, unfavorable laws, biased wealth distribution in terms of provincial development, third term bids etc
There is a real danger of the democratic dispensation we have enjoyed thus far being inverted. To avert this, please keep a strong opposition despite threats that parliament may be disolved if certain laws ordecisions are opposed
