REPUBLICAN President Michael Chilufya Sata friday morning 12/1 came 30 minutes late to recieve and welcome former United States Of America USA President George W. Bush at Kenneth Kaunda Internatinal Airport in Lusaka making the plane carryin George Bush wait on hold for almost 45 minutes.
Bush who is in the company of his wife Laura was recieved by republican President himself Sata, first lady Dr Christine Kaseba-Sata, Cabinet ministers, US ambassador and other government officials.
Amnesty International on Thursday 12/1 continued its campaign urging nations around the world to arrest George W. Bush for allegedly violating international torture laws. This time they specifically targeted Ethiopia, Tanzania and Zambia where the former U.S. president is touring this week.
However, the countries Amnesty asked to arrest George W. Bush have taken the arresting plea by them as just ‘water passing under the bridge’ with all failing to arrest him for reasons unknown.
George W. Bush is in the country for a two-day visit meant to help raise awareness about health issues.
Whilst in Zambia, he is expected to visit George clinic.
And Zambia is among several other sub-Saharan countries that will benefit from US$75 million that has been set aside by the American government to assist in curbing cervical and breast cancers.

Let’s be serious about this, folks! You know that whenever a high profile American visits your country the real reason for their visit is very different from what the public is made to understand. And the actual issues at hand could significantly help both the US and this country address many of the ills our society faces. In this light therefore, it cannot be correct to underplay the importance of our government and especially the president showing respect for Mr. G.W. Bush by being on time -it’s only courteous and civil!

Correction: In the US presidents do not lose the title of President. Therefore this article should have referred to ‘George Bush’ as ‘President George Bush’. I will not comment on the request by Amnesty. Sata was not late, he just came on ‘African Time’.

Time keeping is important. Too bad the President was late! Keep Zambian time. We lose lots of Man hours in lateness. By the way did he had to go himself? He should have sent the Vice President. George Bush could have met Sata at State House.

Bush had to be put in his place.

Please dont post insults..it is sign of imaturity to insult instead of displaying wisdom in your thoughtline.
However, Time management is very critical in foreign affairs issues whether it is a small/big person coming to your country. It is therefore, prudent to find out whether there was communication indicating that His excellence Mr Michael C. Sata was held up or otherwise.
people living with HIV/AIDS can attest to this fact that they are able to live abit longer with the availability of ARTS.Thanks George Bush and America for the aid to Zambia.
