08:10Hrs- BREAKING News : HEAVY RIOTS Break Out In LUSAKA’s KALINGALINGA

HEAVY riots have broken out in Lusaka’s Kalingalinga Township after an alleged killing of two people who were caught last Saturday 12/2 night for loitering by Police.
The situation is tense and Police are already in the area having a hard torrid time trying to calm, harmonise the situation and dispersing an angry mob who protesting on the alleged killing of their own neighborhood mates.
The police have since called for re-enforcement.
Tear gas canisters are being thrown to the angry mob of residents like fireworks and the mob is reitaliating with stones on the police.
Residents have wondered as to why the police killed innocent lives but leaving known criminals walk free in the streets.
The situation in Kalingalinga is tense but Tumfweko will keep you updated on any of the unfoldings on the ground….

    Its very sad. The problem is with police command there not doing the right thing at all. There is no way we can have police officers who reserve manning our police statns and handling firearms. No no check it out.

    ba tumfweko ubufi at 2 pipo? its only 1 who was shut in da early hrs of today. da riot started aroud 05hrs, there was so much noise tears gas all over, leading 2 children fainting, and its however been noted that we are not finished demostrating until burial day and da funerial will b at police station…all da thieves in da police cells hv been transfered to woodlands police… any data contact me and dont lie….

    Rememba wat the presd said in his open remarks in paliament he said”most of the police officers were taken to relai bcoz thy were mmd caders so if u ar one bhave like a police oficer”so pipo lets bring ths act to a stop we need peace an hamony those who kild da pipo shud be punshd period.

    Sad story indeed.Somebody please shed some light on this issue… According to the news on National TV,the shooting was done by a reserve police officer,and according to law,such officer is not supposed to handle a police firearm.So the question is,who allowed him to discharge the police firearm,
    or did he use his personal gun to shoot at an innocent person?

    I know for a fact that one of the people arrested for this was not even there and was in fact arrested at his home and had to attend hospital for treatment after the so called police beat him up.

    There are witnesses who will testify to him not being at the riots.
    There was also a lot of witnesses to his beating.
    I am amazed that you Zambians tolerate such thugs as a police force.
