SATA’s PRESIDENTIAL Security PANIC As He REFUSES To Use Vehicle Organized For Him, OPTS To Use A BUS

PRESIDENTIAL Security personnel Saturday 12/3 panicked at Harry Mwaanga Nkhumbula International Airport in Livingstone when republican President Michael Sata refused to use the vehicle that was organized for him.
President Sata was shown the vehicle he was to use on his private visit to the tourist capital but refused.
Southern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Alfred Chiingi then showed the President another vehicle which he also refused to jump on.
Mr Sata later opted to use a minibus that was part of the motorcade.
The President was in Livingstone for a private visit and had closed door talks with Zimbabwean Leader, Robert Mugabe at Zambezi Sun Hotel.

Yes he has the choice but he doesn’t need to compromise security. Being simple does not mean even your gate at home can be left open. Security need to just put at least three optional vehicles which the President can have a choice to get on. But for this one, the best was to get on with the Permanent Secretary.

Presidential security is not meant for Michael Sata BUT for the Presidency of the Republic of Zambia. If I was the one in-chage of security, I would request to resign than be fired when he comes under threat. Allocation of funds to State She incldes personal security so stunts like this are a waste of taxpayers money !

  21. publico-pinion

    December 3, 2011 at 8:57 pm

Sata should learn to respect the office he holds. He should now know that its the office he olds that needs to be protected and not the individual. Some of these decision are just plain reckless!

Let us to lose sight of the fact that he is now Republican President. He is an institution and thus he should start moving away for acting like an ordinary person. Given he is trying to dis-stigmatize the office of President but this is an institution and we need to guard it without lives. That us why he is supposed to travel I armored vehicles. I just don’t envy being is his security detail, it must be a nightmare.

True he is leading by example but there has to be a line drawn. He is the republican prsident and he has to be treated like that. The president has to be protected at all costs. he must also understand that what being a president entails. He is still a good leader by the way

    December 3, 2011 at 9:52 pm

@ publico pinion, u r so right. i think president sata needs to understand that he rprsents this national position and should respect it fully. he should put his personal beliefs aside and recognise that the office he occupies needs protecting to maintain its itegricy. He has no choice i think

@ k2.1 billion: you spend much of your earnings on accommodation, medical insurance and food and maybe children education. you may drink beer with them and share food with them as longer as you are an african and not a nigger you’re nothing to them, (watch hotel rwanda). the only professional that is respectable in eu is medical dr. others are regarded as economic refuses. life is hard there for africans unless you are a sponsored std then you can enjoy life by doing some pj like washing plates in hotels.

That’s so humble of the President, but he must allow his security personnel to do their work. Whether on a private or official trip he remains the President of our country who presides over ALL matters and secrets of the country, and for which reason he must ALWAYS be protected. And because he’s the most powerful person in this country evil people, both locals and foreginers who feel that Sata’s stance on certian issues may threaten their interests could be out to harm him.Obviously that minibus did not have bullet proof windows. But on a lighter note, he’ll have had more fun on a normal mini bus rather than one that was already part of his motorcade! Hey I really miss that KUSOGOLO experience on Zambian minibuses!!

Some people are truly unreasonable, what there to even condemn here. Yes security needs to perform, but as a human he too has a choice. Realistically, most presidential assassination are linked with the so called security. The security you see is not even security. The real security is the intelligence. You wont notice them but they are there seeing what u cant see and directing the president. Obama was run away to a park at night with his kid, now there was

Real panick, but he said he needed some time with family without security, of course the intelligence searched the park before and were watching him from a distance. Sata is president we love him. He is not a prisoner, even on the campaign trail he warned that as president he will live normal to cut down cost. If you didnt hear this you were not part of us so shut up. We know our president.

Sata’s supporters really surprise me! They see anything the president does, even awkward stuff, to be normal. Ati ‘humble president!’ There is nothing like that. Boarding a bus is not ordinary. Even police officers-who are lowly paid-drive cars. What’s so ordinary about jumping onto a bus? One day someone will eat faeces & the same chaps will be saying, oh he wants to eat the ordinary stuff the rural folks eat. That’s rubbish! When you are a president you’ve got to behave like one. There is no need of playing to the gallery & trying to please your kolwestan brothers.

When nyerere unexpectedly disembarked his motorcade just to shake the hands of pipo cheering him on the roadside this left his security in dissaray. His senior security officer told him that he was in breach of security and it was their duty protect him. Nyerere famously responded ”you want to protect me frm my own pipo? When these pipo rise against me wil you manage to protect me? These pipo are my protection” . What a president he was. Sata u are on the right course. Never loose touch with the pipo. Tongas are here to condamn everything, the next thing their president wil turn this into an issue. They are swines.

Jumping on a mini-bus is also part of security. How do you tell whether the mini-bus he used is bullet-proof or not? By the way, the best protector is God through prayer. Some Presidents have been assassinated in full view of presidential security. For your information, whatever the Republican President does, there is an element of Security and in whatever the situation Presidential security must be alert.

thanks ba sunkutu for the reminder about nyerere!! people should learn that the best security one can ever have is good friendship not armed guards. remember Gadaffi could not be protected when people rose against him. it was the same with Ben ali, Hosni etc!! never worry about death worry about what people will remember you about.
