Herve Renard today unveiled a 25-man squad for the commencement of the Chipolopolo training camp to prepare the Zambia National Soccer Team for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations finals. “Working with Government and other partners and sponsors, we have demonstrated in the past, most recently, in the build-up to the Nations Cup finals Angola 2010 when the team received and underwent some of the best preparations ever done by any Zambian team going into a major finals tournament, that we can always do better and be ready for any challenge. Eissh! I am not sure if this represents the best that we have. Where is Collins Mbesuma? What of Emmanuel Mayuka? What of Fwayo Tembo? Certainly, these are better than Felix katongo and Given Singuluma whose form seeem to be declining of late. Come one Coach, let us assemble the best guys. Competition of this magnitude requires best selection.
I am not happy, otherwise. I hope FAZ will review the list and reconsider Emmanuel Mayuka, Collins Mbesuma and Fwayo Tembo.
God bless Zambia

We need all interest groups to seek answers from FAZ and the Coach on this type of selection, because it’s us whose hearts get broken when Zambia loses, not the Frenchman. There are so many dishonet officials at FAZ who can games for their own pockets and blame it on inexperience on the part of most of these newcomers, or it could be that they are leaving out those who are likely to be opposed to the scheme of selling games!!

“On return from Angola the coach will announce his final 26-man squad for the second and final intensive trainig camp…….” Why can’t you read and assimilate before you critisize? Who said this is the final squad? Fred Ngulube and Washington, please read and understand before you critisize.

why use players for friendly when they not be selected or participate in africa cup of nations. worste of priority, worste of time and resourses. that provision team will just embarance the country.

December 6, 2011 at 12:22 am
i believe that is a provisional team, serously leaving out the likes of mayuka, njovu, mweene and the rest will be detrimental to the team.

we do not have players that are defensive minded in the middle, Therefore we needed Andrew Sinkala, if he is still willing to play for Zambia. The likes of Suzi needs support of experienced players. Our defense can’t cope with the likes of Ba of Senegal whom we will be playing in our group, get guy like Moses Sichine. You can also ultilize some from local clubs who have lost fitness by taking them for an intensive fitness training. what matters at such show pieces like Africa cup is experience or we will be having our every day Agony as Zambians of oh! oh! oh! as games will be played on and in the end only to be saying that, ‘but we played well though we have lost’

Okey some of you guys are saying it is not a final squard, fine. But why can’t the coach pick the final squard right now so that the team consolidate in training? why shoul he waste time with players who won’t mwke it to the finals. Don’t tell me that half of the mentioned players will be dropped, no. The way I feel is that may be four or fivr playes will be dropped.

I dont know if it is the gramar form Tumfweko that is confusing some readers or kushishita fye. European leagues are still in progress and FIFA only allows players to be in camp for ten days before the tournament. therefore, our Europe based and South Africa players will not join at this moment until the stipulated by FIFA. Dont crucify HR for leaving out our prolific players. We are there for checks and balances in football while others are busy in politics to balance the equation.
