SATA Warns UPND, MMD And Orders SECURITY WINGS To ‘Deal’ with anybody Inciting INSTABILITY In N/Western

REPUBLICAN President Michael Sata has warned that the law will be fully applied on politicians who are mobilising and inciting chiefs and people in North-Western Province to revolt against the Patriotic Front (PF) which was duly elected government.
At a Provincial Council of Chiefs Meeting held on 3rd December 2011 in Kabompo, chiefs presented two documents that contained demands that are identical to the ones being championed by a group seeking to undermine the PF government so that on-going corruption investigations against them could be stopped.
The President warns that no citizen, regardless of their status in society must abuse the freedom of speech and association to engage in activities promoting a revolt against a democratically elected government.
“My government was elected with a clear mandate to steer the affairs of state for the next five years and those with grievances have an option to seek legal recourse but not to mobilise any section of society into a revolt or any other subversive activities. This borders on treasonable acts and the law will take its course,” President Sata says.
“Whilst acknowledging that some regions of the country did not vote for us and that does not mean we have no jurisdiction over those areas. And that does not mean we are sidelining any region. We are doing our very best to allocate resources and appointments equitably.”
“Zambia is a unitary state derived from the constitution as the supreme law of the land and it shall remain as such. Our government will always remain open to genuine dialogue on national issues but will not be blackmailed,” President Sata says.
“On that basis, as Commander-
in-Chief, I have instructed the
security wings to deal with
anybody inciting any form of
instability. No one must use
this transition period to
destabilize the country. We
have just come from the polls
and people expressed their
free will and no one has a right
to frustrate that collective
resolve.”
Meanwhile the President has
advised some elements seeking
to cause confusion over the
ongoing process to resolve the
problems in Western Province
to keep away from such
activities.

The President has caused this problem. Where are the advisors kanshi? Mr. President think about your tribal appointments. NWestern could not have voted for you but you could have balanced this equation with your MP nominations. You are putting the Bemba’s in a hate campaign. The Bemba’s are now feeling uncomfortable with your appointments. One Zambia, One Nation. KK please help the president he is sacrificing the Bembas who have nothing to do with his weired appointments. Even us from Luapula we are sidelined. There is only one full cabinet minister, Hon Ken Sakeni. It is unfortunate that we are bundled together with the Bemba’s. We are not Bembas. Let us all work to remove Sata in 2016. Opposition no more selfishness Zambia is bigger than you. Get together and defeat the serpent come 2016 and it is very near. Opposition parties get together and save Zambia. One Zambia One Nation

Facing it. Those panicking have stolen and are trying by all means and at all cost to cover their sins. Dont worry, judgement is always two sided. You can manage to escape the earthly judgement but can not escape the heavenly judgement. The only best way of escaping the heavenly judgement is by admitting that you are wrong here on earth. Tonga friends, you are human beings created in the image of God. If you love him seek His way, if you hate him revolt against him

Mr. President, you have one thing in common with Gen Nobby Simbeye, irrationality and misplaced inlated egos. I remember soldiers calling out to Gen Simbeye to present their problems as he was being driven around Arakan, know what he did,had them rounded up and dismissed from the Army. And you Mr. President people of N/Western are putting across their grievances for you to loojk at and give them a response befitting a person in your position, what do you do, threaten them with arrest. You are the worst President Zambia will ever have just like Gen Nobby Simbeye was the worst commander to have presided on the affairs of the Zambia Army. I wish you luck in 2016. Opposition this is the time to start selling your manifestos. You have a lame president in state house

Bravo! Its amazing how we Zambians politic; for Gods work when are going to get down to work? Its a pity that some tribes in Zambia, in their shallow mindedness thinks that Bembas are more superior than any tribe in Zambia. That is cowadice, if u are good u are good. Lozis, Tongas join the Bembas; they are fantistic people, u will find them interesting. Stop wasting your time in perpetuating hatred! Get down to serious business now!

UPND AND MMD..First let me talk about MMD-you had been in power for 20yrs and we decided to boot you out and that was our final decision AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT UNDER WHAT SOEVER CIRCUMSTANCES TO BRING CONFUSION,if you think Sata is a minority president that is constitutional still for him to rule just like your rigged 2008 victory for RB and you
UPND–you are so useless,I find it very difficult to talk about you,you had all the chances to rule this country but you dissappointed us with your tribalism-HH has distroyed once upon a time a good party, change for the better–Sata was patient for a long time even when your friends MMD rigged he still remained focused-sale yourselves well before Chipimo carries the day one soon. Why should you want to bring confusion to our country??shame on you shame on you..Remember I am non partisan but only speak facts

What has HH AND UPND to do with this ISSUE in N/Western? What is happening to Sata is the spirit of the late Kapwepwe who hated Tongas ,lozis and People from N/Western. Please KK advice our leader to drop that spirit as did to Kapwepwe. Sata is dividing our nation, we better stop him before it is too late. Any bad leader has followers, so Sata has people on his side who support him in whatever he does. Therefore, don’t expect everyone to love and hate him. Those whosupport him will start beating those who don’t like him, this is how war breaks.Sata from the begining when he was in MMD he didn’t like people from N/W. Sata is part of the MMD which ruled for the first Ten years, so he is part of the MMD which messed up our country. Therefore don’t expect much from him.

Sata threatens North-Westerners over his nepotism and tribalism
December 7, 2011 | Filed under: Breaking News | Posted by: editor
    Tweet
President Michael Sata has threatened to deal with the people of North-western province for demanding to be represented in government.

Sata, through a statement by his spokesperson George Chellah, said the law will be fully applied to people planning to revolt against his government.

Sata was reacting to demands by chiefs from North-western province who have petitioned him to include their people in government and other public positions.

Chiefs in North-western province met in Kabombo a few days ago and unanimously agreed that the PF government is tribal and has side-lined the people of North-western province.

The chiefs noted that in Sata’s cabinet, there is no person who hails from North-western province. They also noted that even in the diplomatic services, there is no one from that region as those who were there have been fired by Sata.

The chiefs were particularly upset that Sata has appointed people from other regions to run North-western province.

PF government minister for Chiefs affairs Inonge Wina was presented the petition by chiefs.

The chiefs are demanding three cardinal issues. The first one is that Sata must appoint to cabinet and other public positions people from North-western. The second demand is that he must allow indigenous people to run the province instead of importing other tribes.

The chiefs also demanded that jobs in the mines must be given to local people before considering people from elsewhere.

But this has annoyed Sata who has described it as a revolt against his government.

He said that there are politicians who are inciting the chiefs to revolt against what he called his elected government.

He said that even though some parts of the country did not vote for him, he has jurisdiction over them.

He ordered security wings to deal with anyone inciting chiefs in the province.

Sata said the demands by the chiefs are treasonable.

“My government was elected with a clear mandate to steer the affairs of state for the next five years and those with grievances have an option to seek legal recourse but not to mobilise any section of society into a revolt or any other subversive activities. This borders on treasonable acts and the law will take its course,” said Sata.

“Whilst acknowledging that some regions of the country did not vote for us and that does not mean we have no jurisdiction over those areas. And that does not mean we are sidelining any region. We are doing our very best to allocate resources and appointments equitably,” he said.

On Monday, indigenous people of North-western physically fought with PF cadres whom they accused of trying to remove local people from public offices and mining positions.

The indigenous people complained that PF cadres want the local people to be removed from their positions in government and parastatals with the view of replacing them with tribes from outside the province.

Group secretary Gibson Kanshamba said the people have been provoked by PF cadres who he said have continued to harass locals in government offices and the mines.

During the fight with PF cadres, the indigenous people were heard saying that they are the only province that has ever staged a rebellion in the history of Zambia.

The other four presidents who have ruled Zambia before were very sensitive in the way they allocated ministerial positions by spreading them across tribes.

Sata is on record saying that he does not balance tribes.

Mr Emerging bootlicker and D.S Chibs. You must be told that Jean Kapata is a Minister in Govt though she happens to be from N/W yet an MP in Lusaka. Had she stood in her home land the so called non-trabilists who when voting vowed never to vote for a candiadate from the north want to it have both ways. Advise them to give the President P.F MPs from N/W and see if they wont be appointed. And just to help the intellectually challenged bootlicker, nominations in parliament are reserved for specials skills that one needs in govt and not special tribes (coz such dont exist) who when they refuse to vote for someone on account of tribe still want to be appointed by the same tribe they rejected and vowed not to vote for or support. Infact i wish to advise you that economic growth and development will not come about because of having certain tribes in the system. Lets demand development and progress from our natiuonal leaders coz even when they loot the tresury these plunderers dont share there loot with their tribes men. So dont practice cheap politics. And by way current Cabinet is smaller and if they give in to your suggestions, then it could as well be said that our cabinet should comprise of 72 ministers coz we have 72 dialects in our Country.

ITS UNFORTUNATE THAT WE ARE INSULTING ONE ANOTHER AT THE EXPENSE OF OBJECTIVE APPROACH TO THE GRIEVANCES. BROTHERS AND SISTERS, WE ARE ONE. OUR PRESIDENT IS FOR THE WHOLE NATION NOT FOR ONE REGION OR ONE CHURCH. THAT IS WHY HE IS ‘republican president’,NOT PART, REGIONAL, OR TRIBAL PRESIDENT. WHATEVER THE CASE, WE SHOULD ALL AS ZAMBIANS LOOK AT THE ISSUES OBJECTIVELY &WE SHOULD RATIONALLY REASON. LET US STOP REASONING LIKE STREET KIDS OR MA YOZ. WHO IS THE PROVINCIAL MINISTER AND PS OF NORTHERN, AND OTHER PROVINCES? WHY SHOULD N/W. HAVE NON OF THEIR OWN AS SUCH? DOES IT MEAN PF DID NOT GET ANY VOTE FROM N/W. EVEN WHEN IT DID NOT DOESN’T N/W BELONG TO ZAMBIA. IT MIND SOUND AS THOUGH THE CHIEFS ARE PARTISAN BUT THEIR CONCERNS ARE GENUINE THEY NEED TO BE HEARD BY ANY LEADER OF UNDERSTANDING. LOOK AT THE PREVAILING SITUATION OBJECTIVELY NOT SUBJECTIVELY.WHEN SHALL WE GROW OUT OF TRIBAL THINKING? PLEASE LET US GROW UP AND THING LIKE HUMANS THAT WERE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD.WE ARE ONE PEOPLE WE SHOULD LOOK AT THE WRONG AS ONE PEOPLE. IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG FOR SOME ONE TO SHOW THEIR GRIEVANCES?

Trevor, this is again the mentally challenged bootlicker. I respect your opinions but my point is the Presdent could have balanced the equation by nominating MPs from this area and then at least give a ministerial position to N/Western. That is why he is President his thinking must be broad. Definetly he has some symphathisers from N/Western whom he could have trusted to drive his development agenda. Am not asking him to enlarge his cabinet but would have not appointed 8 Northerners as full cabinet ministers but 7 and put a N/Westerner as full cabinet minister. He at least gave Luapula 1 full cabinet position why not N/Western. A leader is suppose to be strategic and not putting himself in the firing range of every Tom, Dick and Harry. Do not be emotional but realistic. I repeat the President has himself to blame for the discontent in N/Western. He should engage them in dialogue and not issue threats to the people he rules. This is how dictators are born. The President is wrong and very wrong. Let us advise him and not support blindly even when he is wrong

It does not mean that if pipo from north western didn’t vote for a pf MP then they don’t have a say on the governance of this country, mind you if you remove all votes for the pf in n/western then this govt could not hav been there and guys like us in lsk frm n/w voted for pf and our votes helped them cum in power so that’s why we need representation in the running of this nation. just imagine he has removed all p.s frm n/w frm the late govt. i wonder why i even wasted my voted for this triblist govt and don’t threaten us wen you know it’s true we don’t have representation in cabinet.

Tough. May we have peace and prosperity in this nice country of ours. A word of advice to our President – Listen to the complaint of those people and give time to the Minister in charge of Chiefs to meet with the Chiefs and find out exactly what it is they would wish done for their Province. Let her come back to you and report her findings and then map the way forward. Balancing of Cabinet is cardinal to the well-being of all in Zambia. If it were possible, I for one would have loved to see each Province providing a Cabinet Minister so all the Provinces are well represented. For those people who are threatening to rebel, that is not the way to go, continue demanding for what you want and give time to Government to respond. When you threaten to rebel against a duly elected Government, you are being very very selfish. Think of the women, children, who will suffer as a result of your selfish actions? dialogue iliche.

    This makes sad reading.
Being a dictator is very close to SATA’s heart, mind and actions.
SATA if not checked will begin to rule by dictatorship, this is what his actions has always displayed.
    .

It will be very sad for people to have waken up at 03:00 AM to vote for a new leader in the name of SATA in preference to his predicessor only to discover later that they had laboured to usher in a dictator.
    .

I know that not everyone who voted for SATA is happy they did a good thing; many have already regreted while yet many others are not sure whether they did the right thing. Others didn’t know what was happening and they still dont know what is happening.
    .

How do you tell one is a dictator?
    - They lie;
    - They threaten;
    - They use propaganda to divert people from the truth for their advantage;
    -They dont respect the law.
    .

SATA can disregard the courts’ process and give back to Mahtan Finance bank while the matters are in court.
It was said Banda was interfering with the Court, but SATA has no regard for the courts whatsoever.

its unfortunate the reasoning of some people. butliker you are a rationalist, i like your reasoning. do some people ever think beyond their family, tribal, regional, denominational and even national boundaries. i see the reason why we are failing to develop. because we have not yet grown beyond self. and our eyes cannot go beyond our mouth. brother/sisters, if you have 9 children and you buy 10 apples, then you share the apples to 8 of your children, giving may be your two favorite two apples each, leaving out 1 even when he/she didn’t escort you to the market, that child will be greaved. i thnk our president is wrong, if he has any hate for the people of that province, let him, just find it in his heart to forgive them. actually the most caring and loving men are from N/W. Ladies with long hair and good understanding are from that part of the country. when you go in the interior of the province you find, them speaking Bemba others Nyanja, its the province that has embraced all tribes. even when they had their own tribal fights in Zambezi, but basically they are a people that embraces all tribes. please people lets call a spade a spade. the president is wrong he needs to be advice.
