ECONOMIST Chibamba Kanyama has bemoaned the rate at which immoral behavior was exhibited at the 2011 Born & Bred which was held at the Mulungushi International Centre describing it as Sodomy.
He has called on parents to quickly recapture leadership at family level. Chibamba says from what he saw at the ceremony, the future of Zambia is doomed through HIV/AIDS.
“I was one of the many personalities given the honours of presenting awards ceremony at the Born & Bred Video awards ceremony by Innocent Kalaluka and ZNBC. I ,however, declined to climb the podium after noticing the crowd had become unruly and the event degenerating into an uncontrollable ceremony. Beer was being sold within the premises to all and sundry. The majority of those wielding alcohol bottles in the overcrowed venue were under 18. Outside the venue of the building were tens of young people of opposite sexes emerging from the bushes at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
I told myself we were facing a huge crisis as a nation. Parenting is no longer an issue in Zambia and I wonder where the Zambian Parent has gone. Is it possible we, as parents, can apply high level of responsibility by setting the right standards and values for our children? If we do not do this, the future of Zambia, from what I saw at this ceremony, is doomed through HIV/AIDS ! We need to quickly recapture leadership at family level” said Chibamba Kanyama.
On 12/9 Friday during the Born & Bred awards, Tumfweko exclusively reported some illicit sexual activities which were taking place at Mulungushi Centre.
This website reported that Youths helped themselves in the car park where they were spotted bonking each other in and outside the vehicles.
“Inside the hall, youths were seen in compromised positions of youths of opposite sexes doing ‘bedroom activities.’”

That’s why I didn’t go there. And will never go there unless the organisers promise me that they change. But people we should not blame the police and council even them they may have fallen prey to the honking. That thing is difficult to avaoid because its adictive. Hope this won’t be blamed at IRIS.

HIV/Aids pandemic has claimed alot of lives amongst them are some of the parents to the youths u saw or we re seeing doing all sorts of wrong things. As a nation, let us pray for one another and learn to correct a neighbor’s child if u see him/her doing something wrong. they may be doing certain things cos they want to fill a void left by the loss of their parents. on the other hand, today’s technology has opened new ways of temptation by the devil, as youths, we need to take responsibility of our destinies and keep that warm pure and beautiful relationship with our God.. it has no fatal consequences!

It’s very sad to see the young go to waste. The reason behind this is fathers are busy bonking young and other women,u think u are bonking a young tight girl yet somebody else is also bonking a girl who is your daughter or sister. The bonking has brought stress in marriages women r depressed thus no time to guide their kids, they would rather drink, shout at anything or ve extra affair which is exceptional. Therefore, only a prayerful woman ll change this mother Zambia without prayer the whole family, nation is doomed.

This is where LCC should step in and hit the organisers hard for selling alcohol to under-age patrons!!

Is Mr Kanyama the right person to raise the issue? I thought only one with clean hands and record should raise the issue!! I find it very amusing and puzzling that Mr Kanyama can complain about beer drinking at that venue when actually those people or youngsters were fulfilling the business strategy of his Employers. His bread and butter was flowing at that venue. So why the fuss! Let someone else raise the matter in all fairness and righteousness. I take it that he is in the same boat with parents he is pointing an accusing finger. His Employers peddle beer and he is spending his energy contributing to the production, marketing and consumption of beer. So how can he now turn round to accuse the consumption of his products at the venue? All righteousness must be fulfilled and he should not eat with both hands!

the so called human rights and the victim support presided by unmarried pipo are such issues leaving parents powerless to control their own children, it was really sad to read and see (4 thoz tht saw)kids engaging in such acts, even middle aged let loose their zips for that barberic exposure. its a shame to parliamentarians who fall in such vices

when you have issues to do with morals let us not point fingers at one another, instead let us find a way of correcting things what mr Chibamba shared is something that must not be taken lightly this is serious people, let us look at how many people who diying right now the majority are the youths, you know why? beacuse we tend to turn a blind eye and be bachibulu.parents who are also the major contributors in the wrong doings of there children because you can’t just give your child time to go out without counter checking the programm which your child has gone to do,being a parent means you where there before your child and you know if it is for better or for waste, your child goes out half naked and you say bye have fan remember to use the condom sure fye kwena, you can’t controll other persons child you are a bad example b’coz balanda ati umwana nga afyalwa afyalilwa ichipanda chonse. so parents sit down and discuss these things and those demonic parents who are in the abit of going out with little ones please stop it’s not fan anymore you are abusing your childs future wife these are our future wives you are using for you sexual games. you suck
