magande had to make the best choice as at that time, like anyone else would do. People want to make the best decisions at ant particular time.

I just hope the new governer has a clean track record. Not one that had burried billions of money in the ground.

Dr. Gondwe is the President of the PTA Bank. He has extensive experience in the region and is respected as a pre-eminent banker. He holds law degrees from University of Zambia and the University of Virginia as well as a Masters in Business Administration. He is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Programme of the University of Oxford.

This website is full of lies. When did Magande deny the position? Cant you write any article without lying?

  14. Yaza

    December 22, 2011 at 5:18 pm

It is better Magande is not involved in this so called government, where the leader is clueless as to how government runs. He is not diplomatic, not only this just so people do not complain about the 90 days. He gives the vendors permission to sale on the street. This is not development. Magande is the most pro development leaders Zambia has ever had, these irrational ideas from Sata would just frustrate him.

Mike Gondwe worked or the central bank of zambia and rose to the rank of Bank Secretary. In 1986 he took up an assigment with the PTA Bank joining the legal department. He renewed/renewed his contract and then ‘left’ central bank once he headed the legal department tbere. He used part of the time to get an MBA and a Diploma in between work..and with GRZ support became President….some think he is Malawian he speaks the language and his village he says is from the North in Isoka area….Muchinga Province….

now with this profiling pip are giving us…am left woundering how a lawyer will govern economic affairs of the nation seein that already our MOF has an old horse running it.by the way someone tell me what kind of a doctor this man is coz iv not seen the Phd record.
its a bit disturbing for a banker like me working hard to understand the systems as well as getting all banking and business economic qualification yet a lawyer with MBA and deplomers gets the highest attainable banking job in the land..
needless to say i cant be chief justice with just master of law and diplomas

@concerned banker you are right but sometimes you dont want a hands on guy as he might make it impossible for you to work..my choice would have been Peter Banda for Guv.

  22. homem

    December 22, 2011 at 6:38 pm

@ concerned banker, if what you have written is true then, the appointment lives much to be desired cuz we have highly educated and experienced zambian bankers or economists to take over that job.so the appointment has a lot of attachments.

the out-going governor is a highly educated economist who without doubt failed us all. Therefore we do not necessarily need an economist for the position of governor but rather a person who is committed, focused and patriotic.

    To Tumfweko Admin,
Why can’t you include his CV, like one blogger has including in his post, is it asking too much for a very high profile post; Professional background matters more!!
    Thanx

    @charles c. Mvula

So if you know him does it mean everyone knows him? Its one thing knowing someone personally and its another knowing their professional background.Don’t you know some people use handheld devices to visit this website which make it combusome to Google. A professional background would have beefed up that little article anyway.

If MCS had appointed someone from his tribe people could have jumped and labelled him as a tribalist. what about appointing someone bearing a name michael? since tribe= tribalism and name = ? namelism??? so MCS is practicing namelism…..
lets hope this michael G will deliver to the expectation of the zambian pipo.

    Latest:
Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai has divorced his wife of 12 days, blaming a ‘plot’ by secret agents loyal to his rival Robert Mugabe.
Mr Tsvangirai, 59, said ‘an active political hand’ was behind stories in newspapers controlled by the despotic president suggesting he had to marry Locadia Tembo, 39, because she was pregnant.
She is reportedly due to give birth to twins early next year. If true, it means Mr Tsvangirai got her pregnant before they married – taboo in Zimbabwe.
