PRESIDENT Michael Sata is failing to settle down and will find governance of Zambia extremely difficult.National Restoration Party (NAREP) president Elias Chipimo Jnr. said President Sata was finding governance difficult because he had failed to differentiate between governing and being in the opposition.
“One thing we have observed is that President Sata was not prepared to lead this nation because he is still behaving like he is still in the opposition and that makes it extremely difficult for him to adapt to the etiquettes of governance,” said Chipimo Jnr.
Mr. Chipimo said it was sad that the head of state had continued to conduct himself like a cadre by engaging into open politicking, the act which should be performed by junior party officials at lower ranks.
He observed that Zambia was at crossroads for destruction if the head of state did not initiate a national programme for economical development for the benefit of the people.
Mr. Chipimo accused President Sata of not utilising the channels of communication government had put in place for consultation purposes in order to avoid what he said un-researched and unilateral decisions.
“The problem this country is facing is about leadership. We need a leader who will freely and knowledgeably understand issues of governance and what it calls for being in that office (Presidency). So far President Sata has lamentably failed to live up to that standard,”
He said Zambia could only survive total collapse of leadership pillars if the Head of State toned down on various pronouncements and proper investigations were carried out.
Mr. Chipimo Jnr. said President Sata’s cabinet and advisors should stand up and not allow the head of state to make embarrassing statements that had a negative bearing on the democracy of the nation.
I wanna cry sometimes.

The observation in this article is spot on. If you truly love someone, you need to correct and advise when they err.
Most of the comments that we see are not helpful to the President and PF. Unless you want PF to be a one term government, then support blindly.
It is lunancy to say will support President whether right or wrong till death.
Blind loyalt and support leads to creation of dictators.
Having voted for change, it is important that the President be assisted. He is not GOD but human and prone to make mistakes.

Mr E Chipimo should find time and meet the President and air his problems because we need a united Zambia, it is important to provide constructive criticism and not insults. The little that I know about Mr E. Chipimo Jr is enough to convince me that he comes from a good familly where no one is allowed to belittle adults despite how wrong they are. Having said that, I would personally advise the two leaders to meet and offer each other constructive advise for a better Zambia.

I gave MCS my vote based on his “not always towing, the official line. He demonstrated this in UNIP (although a turncoat in MMD), and was quite effective in getting the establishment to do the right thing. Chipimo is spot on, if he made this observation and he should have given his understanding of Zambian political and social dynamics.

How can you guys be so malicious in your conduct? You need to be accurate in your reporting. You are informing us of the current affairs and many other things. You are our source of information but if you are going to be representing people’s speeches. It is very unfortunate. Please do apology to ECJ for publishing a story that never hailed from you. Look at how he had to time off his busy schedule to just explain his stance on what he has been accused of writting.
I think you also need to take an active and just way about this, apologize to us the readers for misinforming us.
Elias had such a clean conduct during campaigns and even afterwards, why would he engage in careless talk now?
Lets not dent people’s speech.
Viva ECJ and God bless our current president.

My advice to elias chipimo is not follow pipo with no agenda for zambia, believe hh and his friends they are jealous of sata becoming president coz they never expected it.They ve gone flatout disregarding all the things that pf puts in place. If u chipimo wants to add on something tangible to this nation plse go and talk to the president,u are not going to win political mileage by starting accusing the president of anything so soon. And what supprises me so much is why have u started critisng sata so soon when u gave rupiah banda more time wen in less than a month in power he started making bad decisions which has affected the our country now.Leave the presido to do his work like u gave mmd thieves to loot our nation.

MR MANDA MUSONDA IF THINK UR CHEAP TALK WILL EARN U SYMPATHY THEN U ARE MISTAKEN. UR PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN HH IS CRITICISED, U CONCLUDE THAT IT WAS SO BECOZ HIS TONGA. THIS IS A TRIBE, A PEOPLE AND LANGUAGE LIKE ANY OTHER ON THIS EARTH. AND FOR YOUR INFOR NO TRIBE (TONGA INCLUDED) OR POLITICIAN OF ANY TRIBE OR EVEN RACE IS WORTH YOUR BLOOD OR WORTH CRYING FOR. THOSE TRIBLISTS MISLEADING YOU ARE DOING SO TO ENSURE THAT YOU KEEP YOUR SYMPATHETIC TRIBAL VOTE FOR THEM. AGAIN THIS IS A NARROW WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS.SATA’S STAIN CRITICS WERE AMONG OTHERS EDWARD MUMBI, CHANDA CHIMBWI, CHIEF CHITIMUKULU AND MANY CHIEFS FROM N/WERSTERN AND LUAPULA. NOT FOR A DAY DID I HEAR HIM OR HIS SUPPORTERS SAY THEY ARE CRICISING (SATA) ME BECOZ AM BEMBA. CHEAP THINKING SHOULD BE CONFINED TO THE DARK AGES WERE I SINCERELY BELIEVE YOU DONT BELONG AT ALL. USE MODERN METHODS OF PROPING UP YOUR CANDIDTATE. IF OBAMA HAD CONSULTED YOU REGARDING HIS ELECTION, I BET HE WOULD NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN NOMINATED COZ ANY CRICISM LEVELLED AT HIM WOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN AS RACIST. RISE ABOVE PRIMITIVE POLITICS, OTHER WISE NO RIGHT THINKING PERSON WILL SYMPATHISE OR VOTE FOR U. AND LASTLY, DONT ASSOCIATE TRIBE WITH POLITICAL AFFILIATTION BECOZ IT CANNOT DO WERE EVERY TONGA IS EXPECTED TO BE UPND. AND IF THEY ARE NOT THEN U VIEW THEM AS TRAITORS OR SELL OUTS. I REFUSE TO BUY INTO SUCH POLITICS DESPITE BEING TONGA AND ITS THE MAIN REASON WHY I VE NOT VOTED FOR OR SUPPORTED UPND SINCE MAZOKA’S DEATH.

Bravo Chipimo,u hv a valid point.Sata is my president & I know he has a heart for Zambia, trouble is he has no proper economical & political advisers. He needed pipo like Chipimo himself. Whether pipo like it or not,Mr Sata is going to be president for the next 5 years,as such the best we can do is help him help the pipo of Zambia through good governance. On a serious note though, our president urgently needs image builders to shape him into a better leader.

That is what it means in a democracy.we need critics.
Fine!
December 23, 2011 at 4:54 pm
Chipimo has observed, just like me, that things are out of sense.
.
SATA has not understood the meaning of presidency.
.
His whole political life has been about combining commedy and insults to make many disgrantled people lough.
.
SATA ia never serious about many things, and never cares the outcome of anything.
.
Nkandu Luo is now wondering whether she is a REMOTE of a minister.
.
Luo is still questioning whether she is a rubber-stamp or a dicission-maker.
.
Right now, anyone can camp in any corridor or street, or set up a carwash on any place on any road – it will matter nothing.
.
Are those Nkandu Luo’s values or she will sell her values for a Salary??
.
It is now becoming clear that the imput of ministers and other government leaders is uncertian. The have been reduced to dancing queens and Kings.
.
If the trend is not checked, Zambia’s economy, dignity, morals, etc are headed for a collapse!!!

The problem with Zambian politics is that we focus so much on the personal mistakes of the President instead of the vision he has for the nation. We also never ask ourselves what roles we can play in developing our country in that vision. I have had the prevelage of observing all the presidents from kk to the present, and non of them has undertaken such drastic changes like Sata in 90 days, given the devastated situation he found things in.Dont foregate that each person has his own leadership style. Sata is not a copy of the previous Presidents, so we also have to get used to his style of leadership and that includes his Ministers. Lets be cool for now, its only 3 months out of his 60.

If being the president means that someone need to be hiding from people that have voted for him then i think its not a good office. But what our president is doing its really good and all that i can say is that he should keep it up. If the other people think that you are not doing any correct thing then they can just work hard and become presint so that they can change what they want to change, as for now ni ba Sata chabeeeeeee!

President Elias Chipimo is spot on.Sata is ill prepared for the presidency of the nation.I honestly think that the election result caught Sata off guard.Sata has no plan for the nation apart from his daily rants. It`s time for Sata to govern not just talk.
