CHAWAMA Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Edgar Lungu has asked Morgan Munda- the UPND candidate he beat in the September elections- to start attending civics night school lessons because his understanding of government operations is still not up-to-date.
Reacting to Munda who recently charged that he is more of a globetrotter than an MP, Lungu who is also the deputy Minister in the Office of the Vice President said Munga does not comprehend issues that concern the running of the country. He advised Munga to avoid making baseless statements.
Lungu said his outing to China which Munga alleges was a globetrotting exercises was in fact a government assignment.
“You see, I am not only an MP, I am also a Minister. So, those trips where he is saying I move around every day, it’s because the Vice President told me I should go there. You know, I can’t refuse. I just have to go. That’s the way it is,” Lungu said adding, “So, when you look at Morgan, he is a man who does not understand how government operates…how the running of the country is done. He needs some updates.”
Lungu also advised Munga to start attending night school lessons saying doing so would enhance his understanding of government operations.
“Those things Morgan is saying…he is just exposing his ignorance about government operations. I suggest he starts attending night school lessons specifically civics lessons. He should then take his civics very seriously. That’s when he will get to have a good understanding of things,” Munda said.
Recently, Munda charged that Lungu had betrayed the people of Chawama as he was rarely found in the constituency.
Munda added that Lungu spends all his time travelling around the world instead of attending to the problems his constituency was faced with.
In the September elections,
Munda who resides within
Chawama stood on the UPND
ticket but lost out to Lungu- a
PF candidate who hails from
New Kasama Township. The issue
of residency sparked a quarrel
between the two during the
election campaigns.

A politician will always seek public attention by creating empty messages full of lies with a vested intrest of enriching their bags leaving the audience subjected to extreme poverty and a debate that only yields perpetual crimes of its peak.a politician will never be a leader.

I believe we comprehend things differently. Edgar has only mentioned civics in his statement and hasn’t attached any grade to it and so its up to the readers to translate to what grade that subject is offered

Lungu should not be so arrogant about Munda’s comment, really how could a normal MP starts trotting the globe before addressing his people. Lungu is earning extra money for all his trips abroad which his people do not and he does put that into development of the area but to his own. This is the big problem Zambia gain for electing people had suffered in their life for failing to make it after they retire. So Lungu is merely recovering from poverty when he was out of Govt. He should not people who offer him positive criticism but to call those people to hear their side of the story. It appears to me that Lungu has now become rich that he can no longer listen to people in the constituency. I advise Lungu to take it easy, 2016 is not far. MMD did the same to Father Frank Bwalya, now where are they?

Does our MP got anything else serious to tell us than this childish mud slinging in public with a loser. The fact is that no PF -MP has so far outlined any development programmes at constituency level.
In Ndola central we have a Mr Shamenda who we the electorates ever doubt if he will step into Mapalo[Chipulukusu[ and Nkwazi[Sinia]. the man is already in another world- utumangwe bwafya.

These MP’s seem to be good and tough at talking.
We are watching and want to see development socially and economically.
We are tired of seeing government officials and MP’s driving ‘four wheelers’ and yet no development for the pipo that voted for them except for some packets of Shake-Shake for some foolish zealots.
It is not about who is able to differiate whether ‘a book is upside-down or not’.

This MPs need to be very serious. We voted them into office so that they can work for us, by they are just busy moving up and down. Mandevu constituency is the same issue we are facing. we voted for Jean Kapata so that she can be our MP, but she has never been in the area since PF got into power. Is their a specific office where one can go and complain about their MP? please help

MUNDA WAS TALKING ABOUT ISSUES AFFECTING THE CHAWAMA PEOPLE AND HE ONLY SAID THE CURRENT MP WAS NOT DOING ENOUGH TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. INSTEAD HE WAS JUST MOVING AROUND THE GLOBE PAYING LITTLE ATTENTION TO THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HIM. sO MUNDA IS RIGHT THERE WAS NO NEED FOR LUNGU TO RESPOND TO THIS BUT JUST TO TAKE AS AN ADVICE.
