SIKOTA Tells Off PF Government “Leave Maxwell Mwale ALONE”

Sakwiba Sikota

A Lusaka Lawyer Sakwiba Sikota has questioned the legality of the continued investigations and harassment of his client former mines Minister Maxwell Mwale when the matter is before the courts of law.Raising the matter in court Mr. Sikoka said it was illegal and unconstitutional for police to persecute his client while matters were before the courts of law.

Mr. Sikota made the application during the continued trial of his client who had been accused of keeping property believed to have been stolen.Mr. Sikota informed the court that the police had continued to harass his client by continuing to search his house while trial had commenced and continued in the courts of law.

He complained that it was illegal for any searches and investigations to continue while the matter was before the courts of law.But the prosecution insisted that the continued search and seizure of property had nothing to do with the matter before the court and therefore the matter was adjourned for ruling.

    Will not comment about case in court. But all I know like many other Zambians is that most of our fomer government leaders became corrupt at our expense. They acquired property, girlfriends etc while hospitals lacked medicines, beds, police/prison officers, inmates lacked uniforms, civils are owed in billions of allowances but the gvmnt leaders travelled with full allowances both outside and within the country, hence their removal from power, we highly welcome the PF fight against corruption.

    Before we move on and accelerate our economic development programs cleaning house is a prerequisite. Please let the hardworking government carry out it’s mandate to turn Zambia into a giant economic powerhouse. UNIP, MMD messed up so bad it’s just impossible to move forward without first cleaning the rubbish and clear the stench they left behind. So please keep quite.

    ‘tells off’? Ba tumfweko why do u like this phrase? it doesn’t sound proffesional really. And after reading your article, I havent seen anywhere where Mr Sikota was “telling off” the government. Making an application or a complaint is not the same thing as telling off, unless there is something u are hiding. So please improve bane! (by the way there is another ‘tell off’ on your front page) – be creative and interesting plz!

    Actually we are solely behind whatever the security wings are doing to recover to recover “our” property. In Zambia wealth tend to be concentrated in a few hands. We saw what was happening. I mean we know some girfriends of these leaders and their sons and what their boyfriends were giving them, its not like we are dumb Sir. God bless Zambia.

    I think Sikota is the biggest thief now, he even knows that his clients really stole but he goes and benefit from them by defending them in courts. Tulubakaka bamalukula this year, mwakakwa bashetani.

    Little knowledge is dangerous!!
    Sikota is a lawyer by profession and that is his business. He is defending those being taken to court, but, not those who have been to court and found guilty. Just because at the other end is Sata and PF does not make the accused guilty before proven guilty.

    @PF supporters and street vending
    The problem with you PF supporters is that you want Sikota to join you street vending. Mr Sikota please dont choose to be street vender even if street vending is very popular in Zambia now than ever before!

    Sakwiba is a Lawyer by profession. He is not holding any political position for now and he can not just stay without doing anything. For your information, Sakwiba is not a lawyer for MMD. He is lawyer for any one who may need his services. Tomoro even those that are condemning him, will need his services. Dont think that you will remain perfect.

    Sikota is vulture whose representation for those MMD thieves isnt even in good faith. This ugly lawyer has no morals. Remember he was a Tea boy for Rupiah on the Chopper during MMD campaigns.
