Is MPOMBO Clean ??

Mpombo
Foreign Affairs Minister Chishimba Kambwili says former defence minister George Mpombo was cleared by the courts and can be appointed to any office.
He said this amid controversy that Mr. Mpombo had been rejected by the Nigerian government as a deputy commissioner in that country.
Mr Kambwili told the Daily Nation yesterday that Mr. Mpombo who was convicted by a lower court was later cleared of the charges by higher court.
The Ndola Magistrates Court convicted Mr Mpombo on one count of dishonouring a cheque amounting to K10 million to 60 days simple imprisonment in August 2010.
Magistrate Kelvin Limbani said the court had taken note of Mr Mpombo’s evidence that he had by December 17, 2009 phoned Mr Terence Findlay of Colwyn Limited and asked him not to deposit the cheque the following day since he had cash at hand.
But Mr. Kambwili said that Mr. Mpombo was later cleared of the charge by the high court.
And sources in the ministry of foreign affairs said that Mr Mpombo was about to leave for Nigeria as a deputy high commissioner contrary to earlier reports that he had been rejected.
The source said Mr. Mpombo was going in the acting capacity as high commissioner and will later be promoted as a full High Commissioner.
Mr Mpombo’s appointment has stirred mixed feelings amongst members of the public.
Prior to the run up to September 20 presidential elections Mr. Mpombo campaigned and supported President Sata.
The appointment of Mr Mpombo is therefore seen as a pay back gesture by Mr Sata.

Why should people have mixed feelings out of Mr. Mpombo’s appointment. The man is Principled and if he had dirty hands, he was not going to resign as a Minister. The man Campaigned for PF from the word go when others were still scared of being booted out of MMD. Personally i feel the man deserves that appointment in fact it was been long over due.In my opinion the other person deserving to be appointed is the big man Mike Mulongoti himself.

Mpombo is a clean man. The payee of that so-called K10 million cheque presented the cheque without confirming with the drawer as earlier planned. The payee just wanted to put Mpombo in problems. By the way where is Patrick Mwanawasa Jnr. He also deserves a position for making such a bold decision.

Let him go and enjoy. He worked hard and contributed a lot to Sata’s walk into state house. Sata should also consider Patrick Mwanawasa for a posting somewhere. But he should ignore Mike Mulongoti who was st*&%d and even supported the removal of the abuse of office clause.

Mpombo didn’t resign from RB’s gvt because he was “principled” as some here have suggested, he wanted to stand for MMD presidency and when he realised he couldn’t (balimucinga abena RB bad!!!), he left and supported PF!! Who doesn’t know that? principled people stay with their political parties even when they (parties) seem to have no hope, like the MMD seems now

Mpombo deserves an even more higher position than he has been given. How many can resign from a ministerial position just like that. The man hammered RB till the end. Had RB won the elections, this man would have suffered more. Let this man enjoy whilst the chickens roost on RB and his f.cking henchmen. How life can just turn around.VIVA MCS!!!!!

Supporting convicts will deny you chances of getting the same jobs you well qualify for, these chaps who have stolen/convicted of should not be allowed into offices just because they are sympathetic to the ruling party…How are we going to measure our moral standards??
