“There should be a chief of staff and key presidential aides on political, economic and legal affairs, all of whom should be able to command the respect of the president and the public,” said Chipimo adding, “Without this, we can only expect more of what has been an erratic start to an otherwise promising change in the governance of our nation.”
Chipimo who was among the 10 presidential aspirants who took part in the September 28,2011 elections said even the much talked corruption fight by the PF government in the current state looks unsustainable.
“The easy and most tempting thing to do is to target members of the previous administration for past misdeeds. This, however, is not the solution to our most challenging and persistent of self- inflicted problems,” he said.
Chipomo also lamented the PF’s decision to set out unrealistic promises during the elections campaigns.
“In securing its victory, however, the PF set out a series of unrealistic promises. While these promises served to capture the expectations of the masses of unemployed and disillusioned youth primarily in urban areas they also ended up creating an expectation that even a well resourced government would have found nearly impossible to fulfil,” Chipimo said.
He also added that his party would offer constructive criticism to the PF government.
Said Chipimo:“While many will postulate that the PF administration have made many missteps in their months in office, NAREP’s stated role as an opposition Party is to offer constructive criticism. This means not laying blame on the current administration without offering sensible and practical solutions.”

CHIPIMO is on the right track, he is young and intelligent and he does not have very old children who cld be a problem in statehouse like all these past and current pressident.
Looks like from the SaTa family his proud grandson from cabinet office has publicly and openly stated that he is taking over from the grandfather – to an extent that he has even posted that detail on this thing called Faecbook – this SATAs grandson is at the moment fighting winter k – because he know that he is the most capable to take over after satas one term

I agree with Chipimo because you can not only fight corruption by targeting the old regime without scrutinising the people you are appointing to take over the same offices

Making promises is part of politics, its more less like ngolelansha umwanakashi, so at the end of the day the clever one wins, in this case PF won

Chipimo its too early to start critising the president the way u doing it,we ve seen some changes from the time pf came into power. We were all saying mmdare plunderers when they were in power and we said any govt that comes into power shud probe rupiah bandas regime so watts wrong 4 satas govt to probe those from the previous regime. The u are going about things chipimo its not gud 4 yo political career, believe it has costed hh,erratic is the bad term to use to a govt that has been just in power 4 a few months and what surprises me is that u never did this when rupiah and his govt started misusing our money.Whatever u say pipo wont believe u coz pf is on right track.

Ken is right, very right we are not saying pipo shud not critisize, but critisizm shud be meaningful and chipimos observation is welcome, but i can advise him to seek audieunce with the presido and if the he refuses advice then he can come to media, not the way is coming out, like we ll be voting soon and chipimo is campaigning.Help zambia if u ve meaningful ideas than always wanting to win political mileage, believe zambians are too clever 4 yo early campaigns.PF is is only in power 4 some months.

I think CN is right Chipimo’s advice is welcome but if he really wants to see development as he imagines it he can approach our presido and offer his advice unless if he really brushes off the advice THEN u can bring it to the media,We the PF supporters do not just support for the sake of PF remaining in power but for a better Zambia if PF will fail to fullfill the aspirations of the pipo we shall DEFINATLEY show them the exit door, for now SATA neds pipo like Chipimo who will offer advice and not like this FRUSTRATED STRANDED ***** hh.

Hi Elias. You should not be intimidated to excercise your democratic right to air what you feel is good for our nation. That is why you have given yourself to serve when most us young intelectuals shun politics. After all we voted for PF in order to bring about progress in our country and creat a better Zambia for our Children and Children’s Children. We all need to be partriotic, this is our nation and Zambia is too big and important for one person and or a group of people, people will come and go Zambia will remain. Was impressed with our president’s comment on restoration of their relationship between himself and Mbingu Wamutarika -Zambia and Malawi are bigger than Sata and Wamutarika..
Long live Zambia!! Long live our Republic and God Bless Zambia!!!!

Zambians kwena you can talk. Earlier last year I attended an informal dialogue at the residence of the American ambassador, where a lot was discussed concering our country.. Opposition parties are meant to offer constructive criticism and not that which will turn the people away from their leaders..as Zambians, in order to develop we need to change our attitudes.. Credit should be given where it is due and criticism when neccessary..
Mr Chipimo, you are on the right track..May God guide and give you guidance..

There are two major performance assessment tools for any political leader in office. 1. The Constitution, 2. The promises made during campaign. Mr Sata set clear benchmarks during his campaign, His focus on 90 days change was crystal clear. It is common sense to reflect on Satas’ performance since 90 days has passed in office, Elias’ thoughts are timely and spot on! has he done what he had promised to deliver within the 90 days? is he acting within the allowances of the constitution? it is important to advise him early before he makes regrettable mistakes. Whether he heads the advise or not is debatable.

We applaud the corruption fight by this gov’t.
But governance is more than the alleged/corrupt fight against RB, Dora Siliya, George Kunda, Kenneth Konga, Max Mwale, etc.
As citizens we must be on guard, otherwise you trust a ‘politician’ at your own risk. They need to be reminded of what they promised.
It is not wise to defend a politician when they are in power. It is a recipe for corruption.
