STATE Cautioned On The LIFTING Of RB’s IMMUNITY

The Zambia Rainbow Coalition (ZRC) has cautioned the Patriotic Front government over calls to lift former Republican President Rupiah Banda’s immunity.

Coalition President Cleophas Phiri says government should avoid making the same mistakes that the Levy Mwanawasa regime made during their crusade of zero tolerance to corruption.

Mr. Phiri explains that in as much as the fight against graft is justified, it should not be seen to be vindictive.

He has since implored Members of Parliament to come up with strong grounds which will necessitate the lifting of Mr. Banda’s immunity.

Mr. Phiri has further called for justice to prevail on officials alleged to have engaged in corrupt activities during their time in public office.

Coalition president Cleophas Phiri, you are being fair to the Late Presindent Mwanawasa. We well meaning Zambians believed in what Mwanawasa was doing. It is only peole like the likes of George Kunda, Mulongoti, Lefuland (not Reverand) Shikapwasha and Munkombwe who are camelions and encouraged RB bandit to munupulate the Late Chiluba cases in the courts of law. This time around, let justice prevail by removing RB immunity so that he can explain his illegally aquired wealth.

With the bleeding immunity still on the guy can not be tried or question by an law inforcement wing – thats a fact in Zed. So if we want the guy to answer for some of “public sins” committedd against the country whille he was in office, his immunity should be tripped with no two ways. Later on, if found nto guilty, it can be restored like FTJMKC.

We all want plunderers to be prosecuted and convicted wherever they are found wanting. Solid grounds for prosecuting RB should therefore be put together and shared for all to support the lifting of his immunity. Otherwise MPs and the general public will not support the idea without a solid case – you all know how the law is. Meanwhile, I am one of those who were extremely annoyed with the way RB involved his children in government business.

My good friend Mr Phiri,He sounds like a sympathiser to RB. i wonder how justice can be dispersed if he is not asked any question officially. we the public are satisfied with our allegations against him,its only fair that he is given a platform for him to clear his name. As long as he is not tried in the court of law he remains a thief in the eyes of us Zambians

HEY DO ANY OF U SHORT MEMORIED ZAMBIANS REMEMBER THIS PIG’S VOMIT, CLEOPAS PHIRI? DURING THE ‘THIRD TERM DEBATE’ THERE WAS THIS INTERVIEW THAT ZNBC KEPT RUNNING OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHICH Featured these well groomed men supporting chiluba’s 3rd term bid, talking about how the constitution should be changed to allow him. There was afronet’s chief dog ALFRED ZULU, his chi hippo arse nephew, MIKE ZULU and this dog’s vomit CLEOPAS PHIRI. This chi fool is a third termer and thats why he wants us to believe levy failed to prosecute chiluba when it was george kunda who short-circuted it.

The lifting of FTJs immunity was not a mistake and he was proved to be a thief by the London court and was only saved by RB. After the investigations on RB, if there is evidence of plunder then his immunity shd be lifted and defend himself

    January 11, 2012 at 7:22 pm

Let justice prevail, if RB is clean,i see no reason why his immunity cannot be removed so as to clear himself unless otherwise.

I agree with Mundala. RB is a thief as far as we Zedians r concernd. His immunity musj b lifted 2 pave way 4 investigations. If he is cleared then his immunity can be restored. All we want is transparency & fairness.

Zambia Rainbow Coalition. If the name is all wrong. What normal minded human would call Mwanawasa’s zero tolerance crusade a mistake?

The London Judgement alone, found chiluba guilty of having stolen close to $50 m! The mistakes were made in the R.B govt.

Rupiah Banda’s immunity will be lifted, let the D.P.P settle in his new office. Mutembo Nchito, himself will address parliament. No wonder george kunda’s ranting like a mad man.

Brace yourselves zambians. The Boys Are Back in Town.

What is wrong with lifting his immunity if his innocent? People must understand that lifting his immunity doesn’t mean his innocent or guilty. Its more like the cops knock on ur door,if u have nothing to hide u will indeed open freely. Mr Phiri, i plea with u to not just open ur mouth without thinking it over, u r a public figure. THINK MAN! THINK! DON’T BE A 2 FACE PERSON (i quote) “Mr. Phiri has further called for justice to prevail on officials alleged to have engaged in corrupt activities during their time in public office”. Now my question is how can justice prevail if on selected individuals have immunity, back to u phiri?

@Sunta Sunkutu, thank you very much if people have read what you have written and have refreshed their memories well then they will understand the actual place and point where this Phiri Cleopas is speaking from. He thinks we all have short memories, he has forgotten that he spoke very similar and related sentiments that time! Why do these people still think they can drive Zambians carelessly in mad roads with potholes and hope we will all keep quiet, what kind of people are these? Are they made from the same fresh like any other person? why do they behave like this?

We are all equal b4 the eyes of God and sata said that he ll rule by 10 commandments and im sure one this says that thou shall not steal and im sure there are consequences when u do the act.RB and is friends stole they came to plunder and not to rule,so cleophas phiri if u think wat u ve said can be taken by so many zambians u must be a fool, dont be offended if u not u are going to retract wat u ve said more especially about our late president not the other one but the one and only levy p mwanawasa.Wat kind of an ngo are u who supports plunders,u think if we see that sata is stealing and we advise and is not taking our advise we ll let him go scot free then u must be a joker. We dont want to mess this nation its not just 4 this genaration but genarations to come.Any president govt that steals we ll prosecute just like any other ordinary citizen who just steals a cob of maize is jailed 6 gud yrs.

Zambians, Bush was here and you gave him a hero’s welcome. How many crimes did he commit against humanity? Is he in chains? No. Why should you judge the former head of state for trivial issues. Be considerate. and remember to forgive. You yourselves will one day be judged the same way. Why kuipa moyo so. Even blessings can be denied you. Some of you sound like murderers. Given a chance you would actually kill RB before he is tried. Stop this nosense before you perish!

U know likando, i completely respect yo views, but we must learn to be serious. What crime did bush commit against zambians? He was the first american president to set up a fund that finances ARVs for zambians for free. Thanks to him u can name at least 5 of yo relatives likando who wil live longer. Less orphans. The wars that bush was involved in he did on behalf of americans and this has nothing to do with zambia. High poverty levels and few pipo carrying the tax burden and then u go an steal from such a down trodden pipo after being entrusted with their coffers and assets? Likando u wil feel silly wen u see the swiss bank accounts these chaps have opened thanks to the sale of zamtel. And ba kay, this cleopas is a real prick. In an expensive suit, gold watch hanging around town with a smile on the face no identifiable job. He was ”Mr. Street-corner executive”. U want to change yo name so as to get a visa to america? He can organise it. This is 10yrs ago, today if u see the house cleopas has built u cant believe it he just hides behind an ngo, while being lord of shoddy deals. This is why a wathog like him can not feel pain. Today he wants to carry the moral contieous of the nation. Bullshit likando.
