“TRANSLATE Barotseland Agreement Into LOZI So That The People Of WESTERN Province UNDERSTAND”

Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) has advised government to consider translating the Barotseland agreement of 1964 into lozi for the people of western province to fully understand its contents.

FODEP executive Director McDonald Chipenzi tells QFM radio that the government should also indicate the motive behind the publication of the Document.

Mr. Chipenzi says it is commendable to see how the government has remained committed to fulfilling its campaign promise of trying to resolve the Barotseland issue despite not having restored the agreement in the first 90 days of its rule as earlier promised.

He has since called on the PF government to remain committed to resolving the matter in the best interest of all the parties involved.

I thought Lozis are the most educated folk in Zambia. Ati even in villages you find old people who can speak fluent english. Anyway that aside, this document is for all Zambians especially those in WP so translate it not only into Lozi but Nkoya, Luvale, Mbunda, Kaonde, Tonga, Luchazi, Lamba etc, etc….

It should be noted that the publication of the barotseland agreement by GRZ in itself is not a solution, though an amicable step into solving the problem.

And the solution to this problem is to restore the agreement in the zambian constitution, thereby giving back the authority of the Litunga and His Government to effective manage Barotseland, as agreed in that agreement.

The central Government also must be allowed to do its part.

however until that is done, its business as usual.

The Litunga is still striped of his powers and held captive to a semi house arrest in lealui or Limulunga ion and it is still outlawed by GRZ.

GRZ even denies the statehood of Barotseland and continue to call it western province.

So what we are saying is that the published barotseland agreement is of no effect and is a documented which is illegal in Zambia. No quotations from it can make anything better or legalise anything

It is not supported by any law, any lesgalatWe do not think Mr Milupi opposed the Publication of the Barotseland agreement. Actually this is the most wonderful thing any GRZ has done since our OLD Man KK abrogated that agreement in 1969.

Therefore, if we want that agreement to be valid, we must restore it, to the zambian Constitution.

Only then, should we even start talking about it in the way that people are doing.

At the moment Barotseland agreement is illegal unless it is in the Republican constitution.

What is being done, is just a tickling of our emotions( KUTINYAULA CHABE)

Every Government has feared even its mention. Now, the people of Zambia have the opportunity to know the truth, that is if that document that is being published, is the original one.

And that is the general view of all of us from Barotseland. the publication will bring massive excitement in Barotseland from Villages, katengons, lilalos, likilitis and all the Barotse tires of Life.

It will awaken the youth’s motivation to fight further! it will also show that Barotseland is indeed surendered its sovereignty and united to form Zambia. Barotseland is not a mere province as President Sata tried to make us believe.

Barotseland is retained its local Governing authority!

I don’t normally respond to idiots like you but this time I am compelled to pump some sense in that empty head of yours. The thrust of my comment is on the issue of translating your BA64 document into other languages and not just lozi. Think hard before you place those paws on your keyboard, fool.

I am lozi but this so called BA64 still looks quite foolish to me. For decades on end, when KK used to say “One Zambia”? All thoz who claim to be of the BA64 boundary would answer with one voice: “ONE NATION”!!!!! Now wat nonsense is this? BA64 my a$$!

BA64 is very simple the central government with house in lusaka will control one zambia one nation the litunga then mwanawina lewanika the third (hopefully he is not chanda chimba the third)signed and consented to have barotseland and n/rhodesia became one zambia one nation because it was cheaper administratively that way…………..thinking

People this request is because the Lozi’s are so dumb to understand the contents in the English language. If they want to be independent let them first get the land in Angola, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe as it will be easy for them to come back to Zambian land. If they fail to get land outside Zambia then they should Go to Hell. Moreover the Agreement was made to unite and not to divide Mother Zambia.Wake Up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It amazes me to see how everyone wants to be in the forefront of commenting on things in which they have shallow, scanty or no outright technical knowledge to warranty and support their opinions. Please fellow Zambians, if u are a fisherman, don’t comment when pilots ar discussing. Lest u manifest yo ignorance and shame yo community and relatives.

Its wise to comment appropriately and with adequate prior knowledge! After all, everyone always has an opinion but common sense says we should at reserve our comments wen the situation is not befitting.

Be wise and leave technocrats and relevant people to comment and discuss while you sit back and listen.

It’s a pity that some of you just like making noise for nothing. There is nothing wrong translating that document in Lozi or any other language.

I have leaved in the rural area for so many years. I became my primary school there and before I read English, I knew how to read my native language. For those that were educated in Kaunda’s era, they knew how to read their native language before the so called FOOLISH English you claim to understand fully.

You can translate it into Greek if you want.Period!

    An agreement is an agreement.

    Dear Nkoyawarrior,

Now that u have chose to disclose yo tribal line, please stop misrepresenting, embarrassing, and making a fool out of yo tribe. We have great respect for all Zambians, but u’re choosing to be disrespected.

Come on, after all, you are only a Nkoya. Wat has yo tribe contributed to Zambia since independence? Guess Zambia coudn’t be any worse without people like u. U ar a daydreamer and yo comments can be voted the most tribalistic and foolish comments of the century since you have declared yo tribal line.

Not only have u shown that u ar dull, now u ar also clearly showing that u ar full of jealous and hatred for others. That is why u do not want people to at least claim what is rightfully theirs.

If u must be educated, enroll at any good night school, day care for orphans or community school in your area and become literate. Only then will u appreciate the need to research about what u want to comment on before you disgrace your parents and yo entire Nkoya pedigree!

“As a Government we have decided to publish the Barotseland Agreement
in order for the Zambian people to read and comprehend the contents of
this document. The publication of this document will also enable the
general populace to have wider comments over the same,” Mr Sata said.

This is Mr. Sata’s motive. Whether you agree with this motive or not is another thing. I don’t find the document controversial. There is nowhere in the document where there is a provision for seceding from Zambia.

If barotseland include copperbelt, southern pr,lusaka pr. Then it is the most developed part of the country. What do they mean when they barotseland is least Develop. We know you lozi wherever you are you fail to integrate with other tribes, look in namibia you doing same thing. Let me warn even if barotseland is restored we will be there will not allow tribe one show, lintunga will be overthrown although you want him now. As us for bemba our stay in copperbelt dated back time in memorial. Becouse barotse nosense is targeting to isolate bemba speaking tribes which is not fair in this modern world. Looke at false baroseland they only exclude northern provinces and easter province. That map is based on tribal boundary. Which is contrary to what is contain in lochner concession of 1890 which documented western boundary of baroseland to be western side kafue river, this make lusaka city, kabwe, ndola, luanshya, mufurila, half kitwe, half chingola, chilabombwe remain part of mult ethnic, democratic, prosperous zambia. We will remain focused as events anfold.
