RENARD Says He Will Be Realistic About Zambia’s CHANCES
Herve Renard says although he is a very ambitious coach he will be very realistic about his team’s chances at the on -going Africa Cup.
Speaking during a press briefing at Villa Cellotti in Bata on Sunday Renard said he would not select players on past record but would pick based on the best for a particular game.
Renard has been on cloud nine since the Chipolopolo beat a star studded Senegal 2-1 in their opening fixture on Saturday.
Zambia faces Libya on Wednesday in the second group game.
“I am not a dreamer in football, I am realistic. To be ambitious is important but we have to be realistic as well that doesn’t mean we don’t have ambitions,” said the Frenchman.
“Now people can continue to talk that is not my problem. Talk is not my problem some people are talking politics and argue a lot because they want to see a new person in an important position.”
He added: “I am not part of this game, my game is on the pitch.”
Renard heaped praised Collins Mbesuma on his positive attitude despite not making the line up in the opening game.
“I am honest with the players. If I think one player is not able to play, it doesn’t matter where he is coming from, what his name is…I told Collins Mbesuma that he will not play in the evening and he was one of the first players in the morning (Saturday) who set the tempo in the singing,” he said.

Renard is rit, look at Man u. After Berbatov scooped the golden boot last season hez still on the bench,talk abt Chicharito,as well on the side line.
Football isn’t abt history bt current form.

HR its yo first time to be in zambia,as at now u should be able to know most of us more are the journalists. so may advise is to ignore them but i sugest that they must have to be away from you. Let this mail rich the deligation leader. This is also wat hapened last time these guys were leleasing false information about hr. so tapapata mulekeni asebenze ntchito yake munthu so that we can blame him later.

i hop Herve Renard will not dump zambia and go somewhere were they will offer him a good amount like angola, Herve Renard for now do your job, zambia nation team is greater thean angola so it is easly to make a name with the zambia nation team then angola were you were booked-out. stay in zambia for you to be great!!!!!!!

Have never seen zambia play like that in a long time..i could see that the boys were playing according to instructions……Mayuka is the best striker we have in zambia…renard is a good coach coz m used to see kalaba every wr bt it wz nt tha case;meaning certain instructions wr given….but still not confortable wit our defending tactics…..the team should be consistent thru out the game..nt..on form in first half…off form in second half….football is 90 minutes….consistence thru out…consistence

Fidel, mulelanda ifishinka ka! it was just recently when all sorts of comments were passed when it was revealed that Kalu had brought back Wrenar as coach for Zambia. lets just say that the day was for Zambia and any thing is possible in a game of football because both teams have an equal number of players. then lets avoid this thing of trying to make a team on behalf of the coach, who knows the strength and physical status of each player at any given time since he is right on the ground. In Zambia its like every one has suddenly become a coach. Its good we carried the day and are looking forward to many more happy returns!
