BAN Ki MOON Tells Off African Leaders “AFRICA Should Respect HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS Or Else..”

Ban Ki-moon

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon made a startling comment yesterday 1/29 in Ethiopia when addressing the African Union Summit. He told African leaders that they should respect the rights of homosexuals.
He told the leaders that they need to stop treating gays as second class citizens or even criminals.

In many African nations homosexuality is not only discouraged but officially against the law. There is awful discrimination against homosexuals and widespread violence is reported in African countries against them.

In Africa more than 38 countries have laws banning homosexuality. In Mauritania, Sudan, and northern Nigeria, homosexuality can be punishable by death. In Uganda, offenders can gain a maximum of a life imprisonment for homosexual acts. South Africa has the most liberal attitudes toward gays and lesbians, with a constitution which guarantees gay and lesbian rights, and legal same-sex marriage.

Many first world nations have begun to address the issue of Gay Rights in Africa. Most European Union countries want to put restrictions on aid to countries that openly discriminate against homosexuals.

Gay rights is a growing issue throughout the entire world. In most middle eastern countries and those governed by Islamic law homosexuality is punishable by death.

In most western countries gays and lesbians enjoy a majority of civil rights, with marriage being a notable exception in some countries.

Do you think it was courageous for Ban Ki Moon to stand up for gay rights in Africa?

    @Munalian,for one to understand the Bible u need a sixth sense which u can only receive thru the Holy Spirit when u are saved and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ.This means u now operate in the spiritual realm based on faith.This goes beyond the books that u ve studied at school.I wish u can also invite me for that cocktail so I can pray for your deliverance and we can then go down memory lane reminiscing about the good old days at Munali…once a Munalian,always…

  24. Munalian

    January 31, 2012 at 1:33 pm

    @kin,
    I am much younger than you as I left Munali in Chiluba’s final year in office…
    You are MOST WELCOME to the cocktail party…I always relish the opportunity to exchange ideas.

    The main difference between you and I is you believe in God via FAITH while I do so via REASON! In that respect,I see the “holy books” as GREAT for advice but not unique in themselves!
    In my view,the Bible (together with Koran & Torah) are INTERPRETATIONS of God rather than direct quotations since any human being claiming to be God’s spokesman would have direct access to Him,ie the same way the President’s spokesman works in State/White House where he converses with the President every day!

    Example of interpretation:
    “garden of Eden”,idea borrowed from Babylonian (modern day Iran-Iraq area) hanging gardens that were INTERPRETED as “heaven on earth” because that area is arid.

    “Noah’s ark”,Mediterranean oral story about a tsunami that destroyed much of that area around 2000BC

    “40 days & 40 nights” 40 was lunar month in Babylonia,just as the Babylonians mathematicians worked with the number 60 to have 60 mins in 1hr,60 sec in 1 min etc and 360 degrees for a sphere….

    Also,the Bible is an amalgamation of Jewish customs,eg:
    Have you ever asked yourself why Jesus had 12 disciples instead of any other number?? The answer is simply because there were 12 Jewish tribes
    “having a rest on the Sabbath” was a Jewish custom 1000yrs older than Christianity!!

    Furthermore,certain concepts and rituals are of Pagan origin,eg
    The concept of “good Samaritan” is borrowed from Greek Stoicism that was developed circa 400BC
    Rituals like Easter,Christmas (which symbolise rebirth) are MEDIEVAL inventions borrowed from Norse & Roman rituals!! Romans used to have trees in their houses in winter to symbolise the continuation of life (vegetation dies in winter) hence the current practice of Christmas trees associated with the birth of Jesus! Eastern symbolism is also of rebirth coz that’s when flowers blossom after a harsh winter…

    We can continue over cocktails…maybe I deliver you from dogma and show you the benefits of reason!!

    @ icon,
    Present your facts to counter my points instead of using (like most bloggers) ad hominem to propagate your dogma that romanticizes the ideal world but ignores the real world we live in!

    Munalian i commend you that you know a lot of history about biblical stories. But iam not sure about something did you say you believe in God or not, iam rather confused with what you are trying to say. Do you mean you believe in God but through reason and not by faith.

    In Africa we do not HOMOSEXUAL RIGHTS among our rights. When there was genocide in Rwanda UN failed to send any form of force to the massacre
    [800,000-1,000,000 people died in 100days]. When 2 gays arrested in Malawi UN Chief arrived within days and the sinners were released and given diplomatic passports,foolish

    Christians we follow the Bible Not UN . In Leviticus 18, God made it clear that Having sex with fellow man is sin. Does it mean God has changed his commandment against same sex marriages? The world is saying no to God but yes to Sin. Are you following the world or Bible?

  36. Munalian

    January 31, 2012 at 3:10 pm

    @mukombe,
    Your last sentence/question is correct,I believe in God via reason rather than faith.

    @icon,
    1)For the record,”ANAL SEX” is practiced among heterosexual couples around the world,especially Europe & US…google it for more info if you want find out more!

    2)Ban Ki Moon is NOT suggesting homosexuality be practiced on tv as it is in Europe & US but homosexuals be allowed to live without persecutions!! For example,a Ugandan was stoned to death because it was found out he was gay,his patents’ home was burned down and his extended family threatened!!
    Now tell me,would the same happen to an adulterer or child born out of wedlock?? Our social mores are that a woman should bear ONLY her HUSBAND’S children yet the LAW does NOT discriminate single mums or married women who cheat!!

    Your argument of “where will we end?” is false too because for example:
    1)alcohol and cigarettes are legal despite being harmful to the body!! Besides,just because alcohol is legal does not mean everybody is an alcoholic or smoker!!

    2)Europe & some US states legalized homosexuality from the 1960s but the act of bestiality you referred is nonexistent and illegal!

    @Munalian at least single mums and adulterers are shagging the proper way I am going to ask again How the hell can you explain an ass pounding from a fellow man,that sexual act itself makes me want to unload an AK47 FULLY LOADED CLIP INTO ALL FAGGOTS!!

  41. Munalian

    January 31, 2012 at 3:52 pm

    @icon,
    Mr Moon isn’t suggesting gays kiss on ZNBC as they do on BBC and US tv but they live without fear of persecution!! A Ugandan man was stoned to death when it was revealed he is gay,his parents’ home was burned down and the extended family chased from the compound!!

    African mores favour marriage yet the LAW does NOT discriminate divorcees or those who cohabit! Furthermore,single mums and adulterers are NOT persecuted or worse stoned to death even though their actions contravene our culture!!

    Your argument of “where will we end” is FALSE because:
    1) though alcohol and cigarettes are legal,only a tiny minority abuses them -and shunned by society!!
    2) Europe and certain US states legalized homosexuality in the 1960s but that hasn’t led ti bestiality as you imply!! Besides,gay relationships are about human feelings that have been around since time immemorial!! Read the kama sutra,look at Egyptian hieroglyphs and other ancient references!!

    January 31, 2012 at 3:58 pm

    @ segula gigo,
    I too find “ass pounding” repulsive but who am I to deny two consenting adults to do whatever they want in their bedroom!?!?
    FYI,google “ANAL SEX” and you will find it is practiced by heterosexual couples around the world: mainly in Asia,Europe & north America!!

    @icon,have tried but still censored…gimme your email address if you want my detailed reply to your questions.
