UPND Starts SATA’s Impeachment Campaign

OPPOSITION UPND has launched the campaign to impeach President Michael Sata in the Eastern province.
Douglas Syakalima made the launch in Msanzala during the Campaign for the MMD parliamentary candidate Peter Daka in the forthcoming by-election in the area, saying the party has made progress in ensuring that President Sata was impeached for the mutilation of the constitution.
Syakalima said the UPND alone would not achieve the impeachment process hence the need to work with the former ruling party.
He explained that at the party could not wait until 2016 to havePresident Sata and the PF government removed from power during an election because they would destroy the country to make it difficult for the next government to operate.
The opposition senior political advisor to UPND president Hakainde Hichilema said Zambia was steadily turning into a totalitarian state at the rate President Sata was governing the nation, adding that waiting for 2016 the situation will be ungovernable with the PF.
Syakalima whose party is campaigning for MMD’s Daka, told the people of Msanzala that the MMD worked very well to unite the people of  Zambia by equal sharing the responsibilities of governance among all
tribes unlike the PF’s approach of promoting a particular region.
“UPND is here to give support to the MMD and Honourable Peter Daka because we have seen that the PF and its President have no plan to govern this nation, their only preoccupation is to jail Rupiah Banda,
Dora Siliya, Peter Daka himself and other people from this province who saved in the previous regime. For Rupiah Banda they want to have more MPs in parliament in order to remove RB’s immunity.
So with us have decided that after seeing the good things that Rupiah did to us people in the Southern province we have said no to taking RB to jail therefore, we should support MMD in Msanzala,” said Syakalima.
He said President Sata from the time he was elected President of
Zambia had made many mistakes which calls for his impeachment among them the nomination of more MPs rather than the required number of 10.
Syakalima said President Sata had lied to the people of Zambia that the former MMD government had printed fake money, the pronouncement which had put the economy of Zambia under pressure to compete with other economies in the region.
He said President Sata had directed Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) to jail former Vice president George Kunda, former Education minister Dora Siliya and other MMD senior officials some of who were
appearing in courts of laws, the situation which has compromised the office of the DPP.
“The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) don’t report to anyone including the President and we were surprised that President Sata was directing Mutembo Nchito to go for individuals and to ensure that they are jailed. That is unconstitutional and as I said the President has no powers to do that. As Zambians we need to protect the constitution and that is why we want this man impeached,” amid applauds from the people of Msanzala.
Syakalima said President Sata thinks that all Zambians were thieves because of the people he surrounds him and his thieving mind.

Who told you that we want to impeach our King? The man was voted by us not you and your fellow Bantustan. So far so good we have not seen any wrong in our President we voted for. Those other tribes you mentioned they alienated themselves to MMD out off ignorance, bootlicking and poverty.Infact Mangani warned them that do not remain behind the way you did in UNIP when MMD formed Government.SO Mr Sikanyela*** or whatever you call yourself, consult especially CB and LSK where real change comes from. The late President Mwanawasa once said that you like Battocks and you never be in front,Its true.

that is the psychological prblem of our freinds. Every time they open their mouth, the only words that come out is the tribes. What is really your problem. It is not suprising that UPND is corraborating with thieving MMD simply because they are as well beneficiary of the same stolen money. Any sensible and sincere person would not torerate the way MMD run this country, Mr. Syiakalima please, talk somthing else not MMD. Accept the reality that MMD destroyed this country and was sold to the MAFIAS. This is the challenge that the current govt has. It is dealing with a very crooked and open to kill former party. If i may ask you Mr Syiakalima, how many Tongas held ministerial position in MMD? And can u tel me what development did Mr banda bring to Tonga land that you are boasting. Indeed UPND has no direction. Please sell your own party programmes and not that of MMD or maybe you are the same.PLEASE COME OUT IN THE OPEN SO THAT WE CAN VOTE $ YOU BETTER

upnd is surely exhibiting double standards, its the same party condeming by-elections allegedly ochestrated by the pf saying they are costly, but in all fairness what is more costly between holding a by-election for a particular constituency and a presidential by-election?its not suprising that upnd is behaving like it is,its very evident that its being driven by hatred and desperation. How else can one explain its marriage with the mmd,the party the upnd condemed to be corrupt a few months ago.Has the mmd suddenly changed?Has it all of a sudden become incorruptible?Or is it the upnd that has changed to be corrupt?these are honesty questions begging for answers from the upnd leadership especially.

What a load of nonsense, Bwana Syakalima! It would be laughable if it were not so pathetic, what you have said.
Looks like the UPND is so completetely disoriented by their electoral loss and have absolutely no idea as to the way that could possibly lead them to victory. What a great pity!
And by the way, bloggers, let us leave Tonganess out of the issue, because we all know there are many wonderful Tongas out there! The issue is with narrow minded, parochial politicians who want to thrive on tribal sentiment and to prey upon innocent people, just to get hold of power.

Please analyse people who give you speeches. Its not long ago UPND was opposing the MMD that they had lost direction. Today Syakalimba is praising MMD and wants to join hand with the party he was insulting. Is he a true leader or all he wants is to champion his selfish motives. Country men and women let us be above parties and politics. Let us develop this country for our futre generation. UPND acept that you were defeated a clear 3-0 like Tunisia

This makes sad reading. UPND, you must realize that we can never trust you with power coz now you saying PF is promoting one tribe and you yourselves only have a few seats in these other provinces and more over since when did MMD become clean when they were stealing to the extent of becoming cash growers. How did RB & Thandie all of the sudden manage to get so much wealth in 3 years when the old man was wallowing is misery deep in Chipata? If you call these politics go ahead and impeach after all the alternative to MCS it’s either Elias or Charles and not the loser…..

Ba UPND this is really a shame. I know George Kunda will raise a parliamentary querry when parliament opens on Why Guy Scott is not acting as president when the president is away. He is setting a trap to create a constitutional challenge to the PF. The PF must be ready for that otherwise they will be caught napping…it will be an impeachable offense if it is established that Guy cannot act as president because of his parents nationality. The question is Why then is he vice president if he cannot be acting president – suppose the president died today, what shall we do?

This comment can only come from a beneficiary of the corrupt MMD Govt. Please leave our Republic President alone and let the man work for the betterment of mother Zambia. Even if MMD got that sit,we still remain resolute as a Nation to support the PF Govt because they have demostrated maturity and love for the Country.

    Siakalima,

Poor Siakalima, you now realise 2016 is not “frthcoming” like your colleague Mweetwa put it recently but that it is too far, and now you embark on exercises in futility!!!

Tell me any Afican leader who has been succesfully impeached, wha convincing erasons do you have to persuade even your own MPs?

Let us assume, for some strange reason that you succeed in impeaching President Sata, am sure your dream and lies to your dear leader HH is that he can then go on and win elections!!!

This is laughable and embarrassing to come from a former academician, please just accept you miscalculated and lost elections, never to be so clse again!!!

country men and women, It is my very rare opportunity to give you free advice on what type of person can bring development to a country like Zambia. A man who has a voice, a man who does not tolerate corruption, a man who is for all Zambians, a man who is able to forgive Chanda Chimbwi, Chifire, Akufuna, Ernest Sakala (Judge for refusing to have a hand shake with him openly), aman who has not said anything about RBs immunity the list is endless. when one starts going back to his vomit, be very carefull with such a person! when what was wrong becomes right, then run from such, when one was “holy and now accommodates sinners” pray and fast! these are are the things we are seeing in the so double hechi. what is wrong with giving Sata, objective and constructive advice on matters relating to our Nation and help in finding solutions to the many challenges us the people of Zambia are facing?
