Bishop Mususu says it is important for political leaders to live up to the promises they make during campaigns.
He says politics can only inspire the voters once politicians live up to the promises they make when asking voters to vote for them during campaigns.
Bishop Mususu says it is disappointing to note that the PF raised the hopes of the people of western province on the Barotseland agreement only to change its position.
He says it is a fact that the victory of the Patriotic Front in the 2011 elections can be partly attributed to the promise the party made on the Barotseland agreement.
Bishop Mususu says the leadership in the Patriotic Front government should ensure that corrective measures are made on the Barotseland agreement.

I thought bishop mususu is very much learned to know the diference btn a promise and a covenant. A promise can be altered while a covenant cannot. So the BRE issue is very sensitive and requires thorough consultation on how to handle it. Promising is another thing while implementation isa another. How does he think the PF govt should just fulfill the promise without consulting all the chiefdoms the so called Litunga included in the agreement without consulting them. Have these chiefdoms consented to be part of Barotse Country? What will happen to other big chiefdoms in the country like Ngonis,Chewas , Bembas etc who have big territerial coverage of traditional governance which spill over to contries like malawi, mosambiki, tanzania, etc. When they request for a session what will remain of Zambia? Bola panshi. Do not rush things. Let us be mindful and not just brag for the sake of making a name.

Ok the PF now realize they had bitten off more than they can chew with all those campaign promises..These lozis now that they have lumwana and kansanshi now they want to break away, so selfish..KK was right to say one Zambia one nation now some people want to break away for selfish reasons mostly..Economists advise if the barotseland agreement is granted will they survive as a country or will they will just accumulate massive debts..Lets talk about developmental ideals and not such crap

In one’s life time,it’s normal to make U-turn on certain issues which seems to be sensitivity.
Sata,& his advisers, are just like u,despite that, they are in higher position.
In short, they’re entitled,& @ liberty to make changes on whatever they think.
But,they should be aware of the consequences.

fact, lozi’s cannot decide to hav their own country on their own…it requires a national conscesus.we hav lozis evrywhere in zambia jst like we hav people frm aza tribes in western province.what happens to these people, what happens to inter-tribal marriages and the offsprings of such marriages? This barotse issue is much much bigger than hw we are putting it. Suppose barotse became a country, are the pipo on the copperbelt or those in kanyama in lusaka going to accept to be under a lozi king? Already, there are divisions withn western province in kaoma sayng they are not part of the barotse issue. The point is if the agreement entails development in the area, then i urge the government to restore it but if it is about a new country, then i do not blame the government for their reluctance. Again, be reminded that for development to come to that area, the people from their should bury their ancient habit of saying ‘our land’ and embrace investors who have been denied chances to invest in this land. If i am not mistaken, western province is the only province where a person from another province would have extreme headache to find i peace of land to settle or invest on. How do you develop like that? Even their well educated daughters and sons have settled and invested in other parts of the country. Lets continue to pray for peace and unity in our beautiful God-blessed Zambia. ONE ZAMBIA, ONE NATION

Ba Mususu mwikalefye. Why is that Kaunda, Chiluba, Mwanawasa and Banda never even talked about this issue. We need to give credit to our President coz he has even an effort to publish the Barotse Agreement and also constitute an inquiry to establish what led to the killing and maiming of the people of western province. The Barotse Agreement issue is not an easy issue that can be sorted out like that. Muleikalefye is there is nothing to say. I BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS A BIG PLAN FOR THIS COUNTRY AND VERY SOON FRUITS SHALL BE SEEN.

Yes 1 Zambia 1 nation advocate, you are right we have mansions and a lot of businesses in Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern provinces etc. we are married and living happily with other tribes we do not want anyone to disturb our peace, at the same time we want our families in the W/province enjoy the same privileges other provinces are enjoying so that when we visit them we should find roads and transport to reach to their places.

Ka ‘Ugly’ or ka ‘beauty’ as you call yourself, Lozis are not your Mbuyas for you to insult them like that. It explains why you are still single at 38 years old. Rodger Chongwe is not a lozi and is a very highly recognised lawyer both within and without the borders of Zambia. Be level headed and study the issues at hand. What these pipo are crying for is nothing but development. For your own info, the BRE gave this govt 78million British Pounds at independence in 1964. It is this money that was used to build most of the post independence structures you see around. Now when they cry for development you say mafontini and that they are selfish. Get a life and be serious for once. This issue is delicate.

What entails secession is failure to restore it i stand to be corrected. God bless u all. viva one zambia one nation.

Politics! Sata had the whole time to think about the BRE.He should have thought about this issue long before making those promises and raising people’s hopes. I salute all the other leaders who didi not talk about because they knew they did not have a solution to it. Saa took advantage of the people by raising their hopes which resulted into numerious votes. I knew that he was not going to honor his promise on the BRE.Its politics people. You only realize it when you have already ushered them into their desired offices.
