CSOs Call For The Setting Up Of The Referndem Commission

The Civil Society Constitution Coalition (CSCC) has urged President Michael Sata to immediately begin the process of constituting the Referendum Commission.
The coalition has noted with concern the lack of immediate appointment or direction to that effect of a Referendum Commission, after the mode of adoption through referendum was made apparent by Technical Committee.
Coalition spokesperson Father Leonard Chiti says that it is important that President Sata to appoint a referendum commission so that the commission can immediately begin preparation for holding of a Referendum as well as the voter registration exercise.
Father Chiti also says that President Sata should immediately announce the members that will constitute the Referendum Committee.
He says that this process should start immediately so that logistical and financial modalities are put in place in good time.
Father Chiti has further added that the CSCC feels that the reasons given by the Technical Committee for rescheduling timelines are realistic and acceptable.
He has since urged the Constitution Technical Committee to immediately publicize the revised road map of the constitution making process stating the entire process from drafting to enactment by Parliament.
He says that the coalition would like to see that the Constitution making process remains credible and continues to attract the confidence of Zambians

but guys why were you not asking for this during RBs time,? where were you? give the President some time and allow the finance minister to sort out the issue of funds before we start talking about this and that! during MMDs time a lot of money was wasted because of people’s bellies and this time around we are not for that, so lets just wait and allow those entrusted with this task guide us otherwise we may again shoot in the air!

The only reason why sata is delaying is because he wants to put a law to support these useless homos. Mr sata its better you just return the money the West gave you because zambia wont let you do what you want.

The president’s loud silence when the country is threatening to explode into a raging inferno with rotten issues like homosexuality and Barotseland is to say the least, abdicating basic responsibilities as a custodian of Zambian values. Fortunately Zambians are unequivocally anti homosexual and will never allow this abomination and utterly disgusting practice to be recognized in our society.
