STRIPPING of Ladies NAKED to SPREAD-NGOCC
The Non Governmental Organisations’ Coordinating Council-NGOCC- is angered by the recent stripping of girls and women in Kitwe on the Copperbelt.
On Thursday some overzealous street vendors harassed women who they thought were not properly dressed and stripped a young woman naked for alleged indecent dressing.
NGOCC Board Chairperson, Beatrice Grillo is certain that the attacks on girls and women are a confirmation that their rights and freedoms are under serious threat in Zambia
Ms. Grillo has appealed to the Zambia police Service to ensure that stripping of girls and women is immediately curtailed before it spreads to other towns.
On the fateful day the vendors trading on Matuka Avenue near Shoprite harassed and stripped the young woman naked for wearing leggings and a short top, accusing her of being indecently dressed.
The increase in street vending in Kitwe, has raised many complaints from the public such as increased indiscriminate disposal of garbage, pick-pocketing and overcrowding.

The Police must make it an un-bailable offence to strip women and the punishment should be public lashing with 6 months in prison hard labour. zambian women are liberated – they are free to wear what they want , when they want, wherever they want. Those kaponyas should be arrested immediately

NGOCC is full of undecent women so they feel targeted. Today we are seing and hearing defilement due to these factors. Our girls have gone naked on their own.
Please advocate for decent dressing.

I am disappointed with Ms Grillo’s contribution – She should condemn the violents acts but at the same time advocate for better dressing. The Islamic community are not daft when they do not allow their women folk to go about half nude. Please women/ girls reserve your NUDITY to your spouses and fiances

I am sure you wanted to complete your contribution by saying zambian women are liberated – they are free to wear what they want , when they want, wherever they want, and if at all they want.
The problem is that the majority of you women would celebrate if a law was passed to allow you walk naked. Are clothes just too heavy on your bodies?

Last month I used this space to tell Janet c the reason why we rape and defile females (beast or human). She didn’t seem to understand me just as many others wouldn’t. 1.maybe places like kitwe need to have artificial beeches where men would get used seeing ladies in bikinis. to satisfy eyes need oodles of such dressing and becomes acceptable.

Please women dress properly to avoid these embarrassment. By the way whom do you want to see your artistic. For your own information I have my spouse who allows me to see the artistic. Rape or cabbage and defilement cases are on the rise because of such dressing. Why worst time to debate issues which are strait? Look it human right to be naked whenever u want, but in zambia that will be reduculous hence our women, ladis and gals do have respect for mother zambia by atleast wearing minis, leggings, shot tops etc… low cuts nae them. 1. it was wrong for the gov. to allow street vending. I have never seen decency in street vending. The way to stop the unruly behavior happening is by removing all street vendors. If PF wants to be popular, let it be popular because of good performance.
2. Those vendors also must be stripped because they expose their dirty bambas and bombasas. If we want decency, let it start with the pipo who are loud themselves.
All in all the gov. shud take responsibility for what is going on.

Its very sad to hear from the NGOCC leader to call the IG to come the aid of those women and ladies walking naked.I think those ladies walking half naked must be assisted by men to be undressed so that they walk fully naked as they enjoy men seeing they nakediness.At the moment there are 1/10 decent women/ladies.
